- A controversial photo won the Picture Story of the Year award from the University of Missouri School of Journalism. It shows a 22-year-old German-Israeli citizen being taken hostage by Hamas on a pickup truck. The Associated Press says their photographers did not collaborate with Hamas. The Missouri School of Journalism says "While we understand the reactions to the pictures, we also believe photojournalism plays an important role in bringing attention to the harsh realities of war."

I saw the uncensored video, her skin was swollen, her head had a visible hole, the arms twisted and the knee destroyed. Her whole body was twisted and no signs of life were shown.
While people in the crowd screamed "Allahu akbar", they raised their arms euphorically in celebration, they spitted multiple times in her body, while the truck started moving in the distance with this horrendous homicide they saw as some trophy within their twisted minds.

I watched a video on that picture, which said the situation was a bit more complicated for example because of rules preventing the journalist from spreading diseases.
