Hey everyone, Appreciate you watching! As pointed about by @juststatedtheobvious9633 here in the comments a few mistakes have been made in the video and I definitely glossed over a few items. The biggest mistake I made imo was the sales figures for both the PS5 and XBox series S / X. From a quick Google search, these numbers are very out of date lmao Current Sales figures as of 2023 seem to be PS5: ~40million + Xbox Series S | X : ~21 Million If there's anything else you spot in the video that might be inaccurate let me know! I can't add too much else to the video with the RUclips editor but I can definitely throw that info in the pinned comments Thanks again!
Consoles are better now than ever before, the PS5 has sold faster than any PlayStation ever made and the same goes for the switch as it’s the fastest selling and most successful Nintendo console ever made. People just think consoles are dying because Xbox exclusives have been saying that they’re planning to leave the console market.
I don't know about this one. Felt biased. And you ignored mobile as a platform. It was entertaining and well put together, though, and deserves a comment saying so. Good job :-)
glad you still enjoyed it! but definitely a fair point though, as i do feel as though i probably was a bit too biased with my conclusion now looking back. I did consider talking about mobile gaming when I was making this, but I felt that mobile games don’t really pull too much from the market that consoles and pc have if that makes sense? People who want something to play games with usually aren’t deciding between the switch and an iPhone for their gaming experience; at least yet. I do feel like it would’ve been worth mentioning at the very least as there are games on mobile that really do challenge that idea and maybe there are more people than I’m realizing who go to mobile entirely for gaming as opposed to something like a playstation. But as of now, mobile gaming still in my opinion feels an overly casual market of people who either play games for convenience but still have actual consoles or pcs, or never intended to play less casual games other than something like candy crush on their phone. I could very much be wrong though and it’s probably worth researching more.
Sega struggled against the Super Nintendo in '89 and '90? Their domination was just Sonic, and advertising, and stealing developers from poor Nintendo? Not better EA sports games and an uncensored Mortal Kombat? Or offering third parties and store chains better terms than Nintendo did with their illegal third party monopoly? The PC Engine was the number 2 system in Jspan, by the way, beating Sega in their home country, during the height of Sega's dominance. Look, I appreciate that you had a lot of ground to cover, but a console war retrospective that ignores Mattel's attack ads is about as deep as "We Didn't Start The Fire." And your conclusion, where you rush past the Switch's wild success and give out of date numbers for the PS5 and Series X, was just embarassing. You have a gift for editing, with some of the best visual language I've seen, and a rare use of metaphor. You're clearly going places. But right now, you're more style than substance. And style alone is soon forgotten.
hey man thanks for watching the video; the feedback is definitely appreciated your criticism here is fair, i didn’t go too in-depth on a lot of these as that wasn’t really my intention and i unfortunately don’t have the time to research things nearly as much as i wanted to, so obviously the conclusion “sonic was just cool” glances over a whole lot of context as to why the genesis was able to compete with the rest of the market. as for SEGA in japan, i did try to cover other countries in my research and do my best to compare other sales of consoles or in this case computers but a did focus a lot of research on US sales and console history and must’ve missed this fact in the process. as for the out of date numbers, i agree, very embarrassing hahah. not even sure how i let that slip by because they’re very obviously inaccurate, i’ll definitely pin a comment regarding this and maybe i can do some stuff on youtube’s editor to fix it up. sounds like you would’ve been a great resource to have when i was researching this lmao either way i appreciate the time you took to watch and write all this. my content isn’t always perfect as i unfortunately have a lot of other responsibilities but i do my best with the time i have and will hopefully be able to avoid these sort of mistakes in the future I appreciate the corrections and of course kind words at the end :)
@@Noot_Official Hey, thanks for the honesty and the humility to face your mistakes and do better. Most channels HATE fact checking. Pc master race baby
idk I'm more of a The Soulja Boy Console type of guy
Primo stuff as always
Thank you for your support as always commenting cat 🤝
So ... PC won the console war?? Dang
yeah id say so lmao, definitely debatable though since consoles still kicking pretty hard with things like the switch and PS5
I love playstation, but the Xbox exclusives are just better. Or were....
i always had a playstation so i never played really any xbox exclusive but i’ve heard great things
