I have a 2009 G8 GT and it’s got the Rotofab intake on it but I too plan on switching to the VCM OTR intake. I’ve heard nothing but great things about it plus the VCM seems to give you a lot more space in the engine bay.
Great job dude, i have seen so many people in the states use a cold air intake and especially when they put a supercharger on the engine, but do not put the VCM OTR as well and then get the car tuned, well done great to see people with the chevy ss and doing the basic mods on them. :)
I just noticed the little hole in the fireall, which is basically what makes the V8 noises for inside the car cabin, lol, but great to see you doing it and a great job as well. :)
Did you use anything specific to plug the hole in the firewall or just a round piece of rubber that would fit? Figuring out how to cap that hole is the last thing holding me back from pulling the trigger on this kit.
Mike Pascarella did you have any issues with the lower drivers side scoop hitting a metal bracket which keeps the right side (looking from the front) from sitting flush with the top of the radiator?
Hello Mike, Even though I'm subscribed to your helpful video, I just now noticed your reply. I still haven't installed my Harrop OTR; which is nearly identical to your VCM. I also have the long tubes, but that too - is collecting dust. I keep hearing from tuners that say the OTR's are hard to maintain a tune. The bit I constantly hear about; turbulence caused by design. It's nice to know you haven't had any problems.
Yes, I still have it, but it was missing a few parts, and they recently arrived from HARROP. Then I had a 270-AMP alternator installed, so that was another delay. Now I have a couple of A-Pillar gauges that require front engine access, so yet another delay. I need a helper due to physical limitations, so there's also that.
I have the Roto-fab on my '14, but I am thinking about swapping to VCM due to the fact that I believe the VCM does a better job at keeping IAT's in check. Both the OEM and Roto-fab (and K&N) all route the intake charge pipe right (and MAF and IAT sensor) on top of the upper radiator hose and IAT's can easily spike to +50ºF over ambient!
Do not forget to have the car tuned now you will get at least 15 KW or about 20 HP at the rear wheels extra just with the OTR VCM cold air intake, Also if your going to have headers fitted and hi flow cats and free flowing rear mullers, do it you should be able to get at least a total of about 310 rear wheel KW or over 430 to 450 HP at the rear wheels, but make sure to get a good tuner to do it, i dont know where you live but make sure who ever does it, that they show you the same cars or at least the Flash tune system and dyno package they use to increase your rear wheel HP, like Hennessy and Lingenfelter performance cheers :)
I have the 2014 Chevy SS and I went from a roto fab intake to the VCM intake and BOY!!! What a big difference I gained 23hp off switching intakes
woaahhh im doing research and all i see are roto fab intake so the vcm is the best choice looking into getting 6th camaro ss

So VCM OTR Intake Install video without actually SHOWING the install.
For real though. I wanted to see how the brackets go in for the radiator and he just said fuck it on that one.
Chev ss with Holden badge lol 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I have a 2014 ss an I want to go with the van intake

How much HP gain? Looks beautiful
Thank you. Hard to say, but it definitely pulls harder from 60-90. A tune would help out more.

No trimming of the hood mat required? It must have been a Vararam install I saw that required that maybe? Either way....looks nice!
Dave Marques No sir.
Thank you for the video. What did you clip the center push pin into?
I just checked. It looks like nothing..lol
Mike Pascarella did you have any issues with the lower drivers side scoop hitting a metal bracket which keeps the right side (looking from the front) from sitting flush with the top of the radiator?
Love your car! Great videos. Nice work
Thank You!
do you run any kind of filter for this?
I noticed no power steering reservoir. Is your SS electronic?
Yes, the steering on these is electronic
I’ve heard some people have gotten a check engine light after doing this. Then having to get a tune. Did you get any lights?
Mark Hayes No lights. When I went catless before the tune I had a code for the cats. Nothing on intake tho.
Did the side plastics come with the intake?
Hey man, I have a 2016 SS and I am going to pick one of these VCM intakes. But what is the "Kazoo tube"???
Its a tube that runs from the factory airbox into the firewall. Its supposed to bring intake noises into the car.
Who made your build plate?
beautiful color
I have a question for you, once you installed the VCM did the engine light come on, thus requiring a tune ?
Install looks good!
Thanks man!
Nice, but since you now have some miles and time with it installed; how do you like it? Any issues, etc.?
None what so ever. I really like it.
Mike Pascarella do u get better fuel consumption with this upgrade??

Step by step install with no steps. Visionary
Yea its a shitty video no question. haha
why did you end up picking the vcm instead of the roto-fab
Nothing beats a ram air effect style intake. I loved the Vararams on the G8, this intake is even a step better.

whats with the holden badge im aware the cars are the same here and in the states but i didnt know holden imported over there?
Yes, We had the VF Commodore from 2014-2017. We also got the VE Commodore 2008 and 2009 called the Pontiac G8.
