- I sit down to sew my own hiking shirt. I love adventure and I love MYOG and DIYs so making my own outdoor apparel is the perfect mix of both. I know I’ll get heaps of use out of this shirt for backpacking, thru hiking, camping, cycling and even every day life. I am definitely an amateur and sewing in a field definitely has its limitations, but I hope you enjoy none the less!

I watch alot of youtube and have for years. And I have ingested just about every thru hiking/running/nature centered video out there. Your content is my favorite. This might be my second or third time leaving a comment on any video, but I just want to tell you how grateful I am for your content. I was riding a great wave in my life for the past two years and it just came crashing down seemingly overnight. When it rains it pours right? You are so pleasant and while I don't know you, I get a sense you are a very kind and genuine person. Your videos bring a sense of peace to me, like a breath of fresh air on a mountain top. I hear you on the purple. It drives me crazy that so many womans hiking shoe colours look like they are made for a 12 year old. Purple and pink.. ( no offence to those who like it, but I wish they had better choices.
yes! women's outdoor clothes are always some shade of pink/purple or mint green/aqua/teal. from every brand. men get orange, red, yellow, blue. i want those! who came up with this and why does it not change over the years? i would honestly love to know, why men get simple primary colors and women just some shades of pastels.
love your shirt! i actually struggle with hiking fashion. in normal life i wear over-oversized streetwear and when i wear tighter fitting hiking clothes for hiking i feel like i am cosplaying a hiker and not being myself. i wonder what would be my ideal outfit...

absolutely love the shirt. do you make any pants or other everyday clothes for yourself or just specific outdoor tops? would LOVE to see patterns, tutorials or tips on these. as an nb individual into art & hiking i have always struggled to find clothes that fit all the needs

Every house needs a "sewing room" like yours!
After decades of seeing women become astronauts, corporate CEOs, wrestlers, boxers, racecar drivers, and politicians, etc...and there's nothing wrong with that... it's just so refreshing, like a rainbow after the storm, to find an attractive young woman who chooses a "different trail," who can sew, who chooses to follow the passion in her heart for the world of nature and who likes to hike. You are an anachronism (that's a compliment) and a hope for the future. Stay the course and hopefully many young girls will be inspired by you. Oh yeah, the finished product looked great. Well done!!
(And I bet you're a good cook, too.)
