Let me know if you guys would like to see a part two! There are TONS more scary moments I'd like to go over, and I bet you guys have some awesome ideas, too! Question of the day: Puppies or kittens? My answer: Puppies!
"Take your talons, rip open your stomach, and show us all what you're really like on the inside. Pour out your life on this stage." Was one of the most disturbing lines in the series (in my opinion)
Well, after it happens, darkstalker looks over to see clearsight but only sees whiteout. And if I remember, the book said whiteout had tears streaming down her face with her eyes closed
2:50 literally, that's the house of terror. Burn is a psychopathic taxidermist. The first time I thought: As Ace Ventura said "This is a lovely room of death". 5:35 personally the scene that scared me the most in Darkstalker, is when Albatross killed his sister and then his niece and then his whole family and when he was looking for Fathom, I almost stopped reading the book the first time but I kept going . And also Arctic's death blew my mind, he wasn't the nicest dragon in the world and everyone disliked him but the way he died is horrible.
i think that one of the mistakes horrific scenes described is freedom and cottonmouth there described as having gaping HOLES in there bodies that the plant is GROWING OUT OF :/
I remember this one line... I was listening to Darkstalker legends on my phone while I was in the shower. Clearsight was seeing visions of Darkstalker and there was a line about Darkstalker watching as 5 dragons clawed their own eyes out. I heard that and stumbled back, with probably a horrified expression on my face. Oh yeah, and what Icicle did to herself, lying down next to the lava till the pain work her up made me feel a bit like vomiting.
I feel so bad for Hvitur. We don’t know him for very long but I love his character. Probably my favorite unsung dragon in this series. Poor guy deserved better but died a hero. RIP Hvitur.

Wholly agreed on these scenes. Legends: Darkstalker was truly the darkest book in the series, giving rise to the black history that greatly influenced Pyrrhia for thousands of years. One of the scariest scenes was The Royal SeaWings Massacre, particulary the part where Indigo and Fathom were running and hiding from Albatross. That made my skin crawl! And yes, I agree to a Part 2 for this. Maybe include some stuff from The Dark Secret and The Hive Queen, there's some pretty scary stuff in there if I remember
“So today we will be talking about the second book where- wait. Are we sure this is in the book? “ *Tsunami finds out that she cracked her water-deprived father neck*
I'm kinda late to the party, but oh well. I'd like to say one of the most horrifying scenes for me was Escaping Peril's prologue. With Scarlet having baby Peril burn up a bunch of unborn dragonets as nobody in the room could do anything... Yeah, I'd like to say that one scarred me for a bit. Just imagine being a SkyWing parent and find out your unborn dragonet was basically murdered by your queen... Yikes. And little Peril saying: "But I burnded the egg." Asddhjdkl- Like I said, that scene fricking scarred me.
I CRIED BRO LIKE LEGIT heres an idea for the author: have u ever seen the movie schindlers list? (based off a true story btw) the scene where they took away all the children. thats all i have to say. my parents BAWLED at that one.
“It’s a kids series” Which has a book where a character was enchanted to rip his insides out, another where a character, who is younger than her 6 year-old sister, was in an arranged marriage with an old dragon, and a villain injecting mind control venom into eggs, racism, religious manipulation. I’m pretty sure Burn had some wall or something with decapitated heads on them and I remembered that detail ever since. I’m surprised I haven’t heard about the Jerboa I losing her soul. I do think the forced amputation from using magic was very screwed up. I do think the Tigerstar death was probably worse than Arctic’s death mainly due to how short Arctic’s death was written. I know this video is old but one of the scariest moments for me I'm WOF. Is when Dark stalker literally turns Indigo in a wooded carving. Like everyone forgets that scene ever happened! And what with Fathom never found out? That would be terrifying!
one thing i'd like to point out is i'm pretty sure that the other prophecy dragonets know that gill was tsunamis father, at the very least starflight does as he mentions in book 4 when trying to dreamvisit her only to find her in a nightmare, he specifically says "she's having a nightmare about killing her father" (just confirmed with the graphic novel to make sure) , so pretty sure he at least knows
Fun Fact: Darkstalker: Legends is considered by Tui to be her darkest book. Her editor disagrees. The editor had to read through all that gore. And it ISN'T the darkest book!? *Though to be fair I do love reading about Boa being tricked and tortured by her mother...it even inspired a book of mine...*
i like the story of prickle and palm the darkness of dragons inspired the dungeon in my imaginary world im thinking of under the fantasy castle a cute castle with mystical beasts roaming in it and udberneath is a dark dungeon with screaming and crying prisoners that have been there since the dawn of time
Hvitur got stabbed in the skull right in between the eyes. He definitely had a brutal death. I would put in how prickle has left in the dark and cold for 20 years with little to no food or water. Imagine how scary it would be to hear screeches in pitch black underground dungeon
These moments just have their effects. It's just as freaking as thinking that WoF is a (cough cough) kids series. XD Right from the first book we were introduced to a gladiator arena, brutal training and deaths and creepy stories. And then go even deeper and find something in every book, in every tribe... I didn't read "The Dangerous Gift" nor Darkstalker's legend but I saw them coming. :) Darkstalker's legend is the number one reason why WoF isn't meant for kids.
The Poison Jungle burning kinda freaked me out when i read The Poison Jungle, like one, y'know are heros have to escape and there was probably some Leafwings dead in the burning jungle but also all the plants, trees and animals that only existed there!
Are we not going to talk about Scarlet convincing everyone that she DECAPITATED GLORY?!?! Like- "She was carrying the severed head of Glory of the Rainwings"
My heart SANK when I read that part. I stopped, closed the book partially and just… sat. I was so scared that not even tears came. Then opened the book and read that part again. The way it was written made me think it actually happened
I agree about all of this, except for the fact you didn't include the massacre with Albatross and literally anything about Darkstalker! Also, another horrible thing was the NightWing volcano. There's a lot more scary things, but the massacre was huge and very scary.
Another one I think about is in book one when Scarlet ate that scavenger's head or something like that. I remember being kind of disgusted when I first read it! And also Battlewinner's death was pretty scary.
One of the creepiest scenes in my opinion was the introduction to Wasp’s Mind Control power, how even the Children would suddenly become zombie hive members hellbent on murder, moving as one unit. Probably not too 5 material, but it definitely made me uneasy
I have an idea for a video you could make Why Burn is a bad ally. (Not that’s it’s such a mystery.) In the graphic novel and book, you can see Burn saying some stuff to Scarlet, like, “A Rainwing pet? This is a frivolous kingdom.” To which Scarlet said, “Careful what you say to your Allies.” You can see more of this, as Burn says, “I don’t care about your fun,” and “Finally a smart idea.” Burn seems to look down at Scarlet, and well, she imprisones Scarlet as well, showing her distain of the skywing queen, but seem to see she was essential for her to get the throne. I just think it’s kinda overlooked of how much Burn didn’t like Scarlet.
I read a library version of Darkstalker’s book so i suspect Arctic’s death scene was censored or something because it really only described it as “Long and messy” and that was it but it was still really dark for a “children’s book series”
I'm not sure if yours was censored or not (it's been a while since I've read the books), but Darkstalker had Arctic cut out his tongue and rip open his stomach, causing his death.
@@Dogloverlikesdoge yeah i know that, it just didn’t necessarily describe it much which is why i think it may be censored, as well as it being a public library maybe it was a concern of smaller children getting their hands on a book that had such a brutal part.
it didnt describe it its just said: it was w long and messy process but by the time artic was done he was most definitely dead. thats from MY copy of the book btw mines from amazon i think
TBH this is more accurate: 1. the royal seawing massacre 2. arctic's death 3. ALL of the arena scenes 4. The History Cave explosion in Jade Mountain 5. When the DODs stumbled upon the icewing v mudwing battle
I see a lot of people saying "omg how is this a kid's series its so violent!?!?" The truth is, people don't give kids enough credit for what they can and can't handle. I started reading wings of fire when I was like 11 and it was completely fine. And it wasn't just me. A whole bunch of other kids at my school read wings of fire and they LITERALLY RECOMMENDED IT TO ME. A big reason is probably because they are dragons instead of humans, but still. I bet if you asked a kid whether they got nightmares or other stuff like that, 9 times out of 10 they would probably say no.
I think the moment that scarlet holds the decapitated head of queen glory should go on there I started crying when I read that scene because I thought it was really glory
I honestly got so scared when I was reading book 2 when tsunami was protecting auklet and when the entire room was pitch black and when the statue attacked her, with it’s head turning around and making all the scraping noises
whenever i tell people about WOF and they coment about how childlike it looks i laught so hard then say "if you think its childlike, they ligit have a dragon dismobowl himself in one of the books!" its the one scean that had me in pure shock.
Honestly I think jerboas past might be the creepiest moment for me. Why? Well when I read that part of book 14, the tension there was in between the book and the reader almost made me throw up. I don’t know if that happened to you guys but every time i read that part of the book I get a giant headache and want to stop reading! Though I haven’t read the books since the 15th one came out I’m sure there could be more reason why. Also I haven’t checked if you have but if you make a part 2 to this I’d say maybe mention book 2 and the scene where tsunami protects the egg in the nursery!! It always gives me creeps thinking about that book! lol
Book 14 is one of my favorites, Jerboa's story, the destruction of the great ice cliff, and Snowfall's vision of her mother gave it an emotional ending.
I found the scene of Scarlet throwing Glory’s head at the dragons of Jade Mountain Academy pretty scary, or at least it shook me. I audibly gasped! The fact that it wasn’t actually her head room away from the impact of it though.
I read Darkstalker: Legends. When i heard Arctic’s death, I was like, shocked and felt grossed out. He disemboweled himself by Darkstalker. Darkstalker enchanted his father to do his every bidding. Sorry if this will be disgusting, but his tongue was ripped out, his stomach was ripped open and oozing dark blue blood was gashing out of each wound. Something horrifying to do. I’m sorry if this grossed u guys out, I just had to explain it. And sorry for the spoilers.
One thing that always freaked me out was Burn having decapitated heads of dragons and I think some scavengers. Idk if anyone feels the same but it really doesn’t leave your mind for a while.
Honestly, I think the most disturbing part for me was when in arch 3 we figured out that cottonmouth was controlling Queen Wasp using the breath of evil plant. Also Jerboa kinda traumatized me…
The scariest wing of fire moment was when I saw moons massive tale on the graphic novel. Number 2 is when I heard peril was supposed to die in book 5 Number 3 is when we saw hybrids in the dangerous gift but only for a page. I NEED MORE HYBIRDS
I knew the Arctic scene would come at the end of Darkstalker. I thought I was prepared. But I somehow had expected him to be enchanted to want to do it. But no, he’s feeling all the terror and pain the whole time. His talons betray him, just like she had predicted.
These are all very chilling. Burn's tower might be creepy, but interesting. I hope someone chooses to do something with the concept. I will admit I did start reading Wings of Fire in my younger years, and it's safe to say it did indeed affect me. The violence in these books is what gives them a more dramatic, impending tone. The Dragonet Prophecy's graphic novel really made Gill look manic, just as depicted in the books. These scary scenes is what makes the reader want to keep going to figure out what happens. I think everyone should be able to decipher that if Wings of Fire is a series full of dragons is bound to have these types of scenes.
The scary scenes have always been some of my favorites to picture, Spoilers for book 4 and Darkstalkers Legends One i thought was kind of creepy but also cool was in book 4 when Starflight and Fatespeaker where going down the tunnels in the collapsed part of the Fortress in the Night Kingdom and almost stepped on two skeletal bodies in the darkness, What made it even better was how the bodies weren't even just skeletons, but rather Shriveled Corpses. Plus that scene in Darkstalkers Legends where Fathom and Indigo were hiding under the boat after the massacre, The way it was described in the book when Albatross came looking for them was so creepy and chilling, and i of course loved it.
Jerboa III's tale was far worse than Arctic's death. The death scene was shocking, not scary. The tale of Jerboa III's is downright disturbing though, and is extremely painful to read through. The physiological horror of realizing your whole life is basically a lie is a huge burden.
ESCAPING PERIL SPOILER! When I read the part when Scarlet threw the head at Clay and the others, and it looked like Glory, my heart literally skipped a beat. I was like NO! NO! NO! NO!
me who hasn't read book 14 yet and getting it in a few days for my b-day: lets watch it anyways since im getting book 14 soon! also me: why did I do that? I thought I hated spoilers?????? also I agree, arctics death is probably the scariest and most tragic scene in WoF
What about the realization of the dragons realizing that scavengers (Humans) are sentient? I know it in and of itself isn't that disturbing but if you think about how dragons respond when scavengers are in the room then you realize how disturbing this would be for dragons who tended to eat them. If I realized what I was eating was sentient I would be traumatized! And I know some people think that it's fine because it's just how life works, but if you ate something and then realized it had thoughts and feelings wouldn't you be disgusted? Dragons had plenty of options! They chose to eat humans.
I make my own fanbooks and i made a seen where Flame a dragon i made and a dragon my bff made and flame turns into lava and my bffs dragon turns into fire and start killing people
Let me know if you guys would like to see a part two! There are TONS more scary moments I'd like to go over, and I bet you guys have some awesome ideas, too!

In burns weirdling tower, we CANT forget about the Nightwing head the Scarlet threw at Smolder
Honestly, I think the most disturbing part for me was when in arch 3 we figured out that cottonmouth was controlling Queen Wasp using the breath of evil plant. Also Jerboa kinda traumatized me…
the fact that icicle keeping herself awake with lava for days wasnt mentioned is a hate crime and you WILL be hearing from my lawyers
wait what?
Scariest moments : when whirlpool showed his face 😢
XDD
TRUE
The scariest wing of fire moment was when I saw moons massive tale on the graphic novel.
Number 2 is when I heard peril was supposed to die in book 5
Number 3 is when we saw hybrids in the dangerous gift but only for a page. I NEED MORE HYBIRDS
XD to the first one
If I’m being honest there should be more violence in the series as the books went on like, No MOrE FigTHING Lets taLk
Honorable Mention: Moon's delivery of the Arc 2 Prophecy in the graphic novel. Her face is pure nightmare fuel.
when you MENTIONED arctics death i felt my spine doing the macarena
I would have never thought this was meant to be a kids series.
I would think that when Clay fought in the arena against Fjord, and Fjord was killed with Glory’s venom, would at least make it somewhere on the list.
The sand wing that was fascinating by mutation and oddity was blister not burn. Burn was the war lord while blister was the tactician
This is a series that a librarian loves
The scary scenes have always been some of my favorites to picture, Spoilers for book 4 and Darkstalkers Legends
One i thought was kind of creepy but also cool was in book 4 when Starflight and Fatespeaker where going down the tunnels in the collapsed part of the Fortress in the Night Kingdom and almost stepped on two skeletal bodies in the darkness, What made it even better was how the bodies weren't even just skeletons, but rather Shriveled Corpses.
Plus that scene in Darkstalkers Legends where Fathom and Indigo were hiding under the boat after the massacre, The way it was described in the book when Albatross came looking for them was so creepy and chilling, and i of course loved it.
Yep! Definitely safe and advertised for kids!
And at the weirdling tower part we gotta remember that she literally was going to stuff Six claws after he died….
“Whirlpool existing”
-4Rcrane 2022
I mean having to read about him was very scary
Btw have you ever heard or meet 4rcane?
I love watching 4rcane :)
I’m not gonna lie. I’m pretty sure burn has some of the most gruesome kills
ESPECIALLY after the graphic novels came out and we could see these horrific moments
one of the scariest moments for me in the series is in book six when the history cave blew up.
it was scary because, for me, from moons perspective, i literally thought she was gonna die 😭
When they said SCARY: *me watching the blood spew out of the dragons* WHAT.DID.YOU.SAYYYYYY?
Jerboa III's tale was far worse than Arctic's death. The death scene was shocking, not scary. The tale of Jerboa III's is downright disturbing though, and is extremely painful to read through. The physiological horror of realizing your whole life is basically a lie is a huge burden.
Yeah... that scene really is spooky.
I feel like the jade mountain fire was pretty dark. It killed a dragon and injured tamarin
I understand why they didn't do the same prologe for the graphic novel the 1st one a little too gorey 😅
Have you made a Most Heartwarming Moments in WOF video yet? Just an idea. (Unless you’ve already done it idk)
those plant zombie dragons where creepy where we meet the bug dragons in the series 2 books
Burn even had a silkwing wing
Okay imagine darkstalker legends as a GRAPHIC NOVEL! It would be horrific
Lol I like how u used the roblox die sound effect
ESCAPING PERIL SPOILER!
When I read the part when Scarlet threw the head at Clay and the others, and it looked like Glory, my heart literally skipped a beat. I was like NO! NO! NO! NO!
Darkstaller really just gave everyone trauma
FRR😭
I just hope Tui was exaggerating when she based darkstalker off her ex
I assume she just meant basic and underlying traits, like Darkstalker's subconscious selfishness and things like that
me who hasn't read book 14 yet and getting it in a few days for my b-day: lets watch it anyways since im getting book 14 soon!
also me: why did I do that? I thought I hated spoilers??????
also I agree, arctics death is probably the scariest and most tragic scene in WoF
😭
And ngl, I was the same way about spoilers lol
I honestly think that Hviturs death is scarier than Gills
What about the realization of the dragons realizing that scavengers (Humans) are sentient? I know it in and of itself isn't that disturbing but if you think about how dragons respond when scavengers are in the room then you realize how disturbing this would be for dragons who tended to eat them. If I realized what I was eating was sentient I would be traumatized! And I know some people think that it's fine because it's just how life works, but if you ate something and then realized it had thoughts and feelings wouldn't you be disgusted? Dragons had plenty of options! They chose to eat humans.
I think that the diamond trail was a pretty scary or sad
The scp foundation would love burn, if they can stop her from stuffing the scps
For me queen coral killing tortoise was gruesome
can you do a what if the skywing survived or what if cricket could be hiveminded
when kestrel gets impaled in the first book
Guys, how come in the graphic novel of book 1, hviter didnt show up?
The graphic novels dont show most of the scenes in the books
My dad was horrified when I told him about Arctics death😭😭😭
Just imagining how netflix would have butchered these
Though I doubt the show would have the same level of brutality, I had faith that Netflix wouldn't censor a lot. Too bad we won't be seeing, it though
I make my own fanbooks and i made a seen where Flame a dragon i made and a dragon my bff made and flame turns into lava and my bffs dragon turns into fire and start killing people
I personally think the FREAKIEST part of the series is jerboa and jerboa lll
There’s a book eighteen called death and insanity!
Nuthin in wings of fire is scary
The Reviews on the wof series SHOULD BE UPDATED
i mean…..Just look at what darkstalker did
13+
Wait who created the power of Wings of fire
I feel like tortoise was pretty gorey
