I know this isn’t the most loved Uncharted game but I really enjoyed this game. This scene, the sinking ship scene, the young Nathan chase scene, the desert/plane scene, etc. This game was amazing.
I preferred this to Uncharted 2. I think it's because it's perhaps the most 'cinematic' of the series. Uncharted 2 probably had better gameplay but being a fan of cinema too, I loved the scope of Uncharted 3 and 4. Plus I'm a sucker for anything set in the desert or the middle East.
Talbot has some of the worst 'author's favorite character' plot armor that I've ever seen. Obviously some of it is intentional so the player builds animosity towards him and feels satisfaction after the final boss fight, but the amount of bullshit that he gets away with over the course of the game is absolutely ridiculous; ESPECIALLY in cases like this where the author tips their hand by unmistakably cheating to prevent the player from going off script
I love how being middle eastern the vibes of Syria and Yemen give a small smile to me and I’m kinda able to understand the words. For example when the police pull up they describe where you’re at at certain points of the chase like “oh he’s outside” and I like that attention to detail. Props to Naughty Dog
I love how Nathan, when tempted, doesn't care for the mind games and theatrical villainy. He'll just say things like "Cut the crap and get on with it." And also, when a close friend of his is in danger, he wouldn't hesitate to attack the offender, even if he's outnumbered. Nathan is a real one.

There is a theory that he could be a djinn. The demon fire monsters that Nate hallucinated. And the guy who saved Nate on the horses told the story about them. This chase demonstrates 2 things that I love to see in chase scenes 1: Short fights Now, there isn't really a fight except after the chase, however at 2:14, Nate tackle Talbot off a balcony, which I consider close enough. I would love to see a short burst of fighting in a foot chase, especially when you're playing as the chaser, where the target gets cornered, and then you start exchanging hits, until the target pushes you to the ground and keeps running. 2: Short parts where you lose the target Now there are 2 sections in this chase where I would consider Nate losing Talbot. 2:36, where Talbot slams the gate on you, and you have to find an alternate path to get to him, and 3:27 where you lose Talbot in the crowd and you have to find him. It gives the player that feeling, "Is the chase scene over? Do I still have to chase him? Where is he?" I love these 2 things because it adds variety to the chase instead of it just being running after running.
It's funny how high the stakes are here. Talbot has taunted Drake a lot throughout the adventure, and has proven himself to be the smartest villain Drake has ever encountered. He's constantly gotten the drop on him and thanks to his unpredictable and mysterious nature, he manages to almost succeed along with Marlowe in their quest to find the Djinn. He brought out Nates pissed-off-side, and Nate has been shown to be truly afraid of Talbot. Nate knew after the Syria chapter(s) that Talbot is no push-over, and obviously has experience manipulating and bringing out the pissed off side of people. Nate is no different to Marlowe's victims. After the first chase scene, you can understand why Drake would be extremely pissed off at Talbot. Then, when Sully's shot by Talbot, you can feel the outright anger and how boiled Drake is inside. His best friend and father-like figure who has stuck his neck out for Nate on dozens of occasions, saved Nates life and has tried to reunite his marriage with Elena, is shot in cold-blood right infront of him by his most hated foe ever... And during the very brief chase moment between Drake and Talbot while they're in Iram, Drake's tone is so damn aggressive that it goes to show how pissed off he is inside and how much Sully truly meant to him.. Talbot is such an underrated villain imo. He plays into Nates story far better than every other villain in the series besides maybe Rafe, Dante, Flynn or Eddy. Yes, Talbot has some VERY questionable moments, but if you exclude those moments and think of just how superior he was to Drake, than you'll see how I view Talbot. I feel like he DEFINITELY beats out Nadine, and I also feel like Marlowe beats out Nadine too. It just sucks how no one really views Talbot at THIS standpoint, but rather they view him as a generic trope of a villain. I really like Talbot, I feel like he plays as one of the best villains in Uncharted history, mostly because of his impact on Nate. He's pretty cool.
@@TUBOSCHIFOSO Well, duh! The drugs obviously wore-off! Also, I doubt Talbot is the worst villain. Nadine is written way worse and Rameses is a lot less developed and gets the least amount of screen-time. Talbot is certainly not the worst villain. Also, what's wrong with the characters getting drugged exactly? I cringed as well, but not because it was stupid, but it was due to the stakes and circumstances. Talbot is very clearly a lot more laid-back and strategy-based than the other villains which are a lot more head-on and rock-solid. He's an excellent strategist, hence how he always gets the drop on Nate and the gang. He plays a huge contrast, he's basically Nate but a lot less selfish and arrogant at the time. Nate in Uncharted 3 experienced an arc of letting-go of his ego, and Talbot was basically the loyal, skilled and experienced reflection of Nate after Nate reformed himself. Not to mention that Talbot is a skilled fighter, marksman, and is experienced in black ops. He's not the worst villain, heck I'd even go as far as to say he's an overall "good" villain. Certainly not great, but I will defend him until the day I die.

Simply because I find the villains so...I dunno. Harsh lmao. They mind fuck drake and the squad. They push him to his limits. They kick his ass at every corner and I guess its just, for me, a lot to play when I'm used to drake getting beaten up, but okay in the end.
Uncharted 3 Drake's Deception is one of the best video games ever made
Music is epic for this
One of the best scenes in every uncharted games
"Sana'a Old City" ❤
