Hi there, I'm a brazilian lawyer and I practice the law in the medical area and our ethical principles are very similar, actually. I, personally, believe that the principles, as said, all have, or should have, a moral line based on dignity and best interest of patient, but also, preserving, of course, the doctor-patient relationship.
By the way, distributive justice is a very interesting principle and hard to apply, specially with judicial activism trying to decide about guidelines for the free and private public health system, which is our case here.

Just a minor correction: Last I knew (as of late 2017), the most current term that replaced 'mentally retarded" was "intellectually disabled." It appears to still be the case.
For more information, Google the term "mental retardation intellectual disability dsm" without quotes and your first hit should be a PDF file titled "Intellectual Disability - American Psychiatric Association".

If we have a patient with cancer and if we say him his diagnosis he will be very depressed and our treatment would become ineffective. May we say the diagnosis to his relatives but not him for him?

Gunduz Osmanli I would suggest that your patient's informed consent to have treatment may be deemed invalid if you lie to the patient by falsifying diagnosis or prognosis. Additional you have a professional duty of candour that requires you to act with honesty and integrity

No. You must always disclose the diagnosis to the patient unless he/she tells you not to. It is okay to temporarily withhold the diagnosis if you believe there is currently an imminent danger to the patient and/or possibly if they have been deemed legally incompetent, but those situations are rare.

Telling the truth? Seriously I asked a RN and a doctor about this subject they got a bit upset and told me that it depended on the patient whether you told the truth about your motives, course of action and desired outcomes. If you doctor has this attitude get another doctor as they are unethical.

The question was ask: we should form 2 case studies and identify the different ethicsl dilenma stated. Answers provided for the case should be supported with ethical principles and not opinions or personsl feelings . Each case answer requiresa(n) explabation or discussion for the answer given. Note too: a case study can have nkre than 1 principle in the answer.

Your a doctor here's a question. I helped out some women. I believe in equal rights. I am for pro choose. I haven't had sex in around 5 to 6 years. I haven't taken antibiotics. I haven't taken steroids. I don't have dentures and haven't been to a doctor in around 5 to 6 years. How do I get oral candida? Tongue is white and roof of mouth. In addition, my ears have a thick white discharge. How do I get the same infection that women get in their vagina's. How does this happen?
