lol the atmosphere at this gym compared to B-Team is such a juxtaposition
nicky ryan of b-team just beat big dan from new wave too... the b-team is having the best time of their lives while training hard
That was nicky rod not nicky ryan but yeah they are for sure
@@kevinb123b oof my bad. yup nicky rod
room full of spergers right there
New wave is run like a Sith Order, B-Team is run like a pirate ship
I guess I got to learn the kipping escape from mount.
Mount is so hard to keep once you know how to actually do it.
@@Jiu-Jitsu_for_Jesusjust posture up
They need some music on
Let's go Gregory!!!
are they not allowed to talk?
Próximo Gordon é nosso !
Meregali evoluiu muito em pouco tempo
Whats this escape that Nicholas keeps using swinging his legs like a pendulum called? It looks like he's trying to get his knees underneath into guard but i've never seen that before. Usually I go for the elbow knee escape like his partner does. For example at 2:03
It's a kipping escape. You can see this movement in one of Danaher's dvd.
Yep. Kipping escape.
He’s using it to create an off balance, and get his escapes working n
@@arthurgramin3333new wave positional escapes, Gordon also goes into depth in his pin escapes dvd
The kipp escape is one of the most frustrating things to try to learn. It’s basically nothing like any other move in jitz. Once you get good at it, it’s a game changer. I watched the JD pin escapes and spent at least three months failing at trying to kipp escape people even though I would be drilling it multiple times a week. After three or so months it finally started to click for me and it has completely changed my game. People at my gym refuse to go to mount on me bc I’ve gotten so good at it. As a white belt I was able to escape mount on most brown and black belts. My last competition I losing near the end of the match, I pulled mount and won bc I kipp escaped into a leg lock. I am now getting into trying to kipp escape with one hand which is significantly harder.
weird atmosphere
How is this a real gym when I don't hear any GnR or ACDC during rolling?
GnR= Gay Song
ACDC= Oldman Song
Oss
No music??
I don’t know if they were like that because of the camera crew but damn what a boring place. No conversation, no music…
É quer conversa vai para feira.

Just a show to the cameras

No music, no one talking. Is that a thing in comp classes?
Music probably off due to possible copyrights infringement.
no, intentional from danaher
@@AJJ_Bros for real? i have never ever heard him mention this
@@lewiscarroll1150 JD does not allow music to be played. There isn't a rule against talking per say, just a very serious room
Without music you can actually hear the coach and learn
Does Merigali’s escape from the bottom have a name. He swings his legs and uses the momentum to sweep his opponent
It is the kipping escape, mainly used to fit knees between their legs to recover guard. Hard to learn but huge payoff when you do
LIMIBJJ has a video on it. There's actually two types of kipping escapes: overhead and directional. Meregalli was using the directional, going side to side. In the over head, you kip your opponent's weight up and over your head until you can get your knees between you.
