Another great video, I've been playing catch-up! I just found out myself, but the author of Rangers of Shadow Deep (among others) has a new sci-fi skirmish game out: Deathship One. A good use of an eclectic collection of miniatures!
Thanks for posting this, I'm not sure whether it's the scale, but if you need a 6x4 table it's out for me and by halving the distances it seems to be quite slow and fussy. It might be me but I've looked at a billion suns recently and that seemed to struggle with the same issues, some nice ideas but fussy rulesets with dice pools and odd movement and fire distances. I thought I might try to get this or billion suns and now I'm not doing either. I've used Mantic's Kings of War Armada ruleset for naval games and they are a lot more fun. It wouldn't be a stretch to use those for space warfare ala you using cars for spaceships. Turning sailing ships into spaceships might be fun!!
In the search for a quick set of rules, I've got Void Admiral coming in the post, 64 page self published by Paul Bantock 7GBP (Amazon) or 2USD pdf (Wargamesvault). Ruleset reported as a streamlined Battle Fleet Gothic. At those prices it's worth a punt. What has got my attention is that there's a skirmish size 2x2, and then 4x3 and 6x4 scenario sets. The 2x2 and 4x3 fits on the only available gaming space in the house the 6x3 kitchen table.
I think I get that right in next week's video. Really like doing recovery this way because it's not an all-or-nothing gambit, and you really have to plan ahead for it.
Very interesting!

No modifiers for shock recovery for this one. You roll a die for each shock marker you have looking for 6 or more.

It’s the same sort of mechanic as in Bigger Battles. Huge fan
The only rule set I don't have yet I think
I think I have some trek-like small spaceships. They may be usable as "starfighters" in a scale to be determined
Though I probably could use My X Wing figures too.
