nice project. am planning on making a 20ft mini crane with remote winch control for angle and lift....need to hoist trusses for a carport and gate sections for a double gate - city boy so no room for fun engine powered stuff

You definitely got me thinking about building one myself probably going to add in a couple features
Add a boat winch with a pulley at the top of your bum hole running cable through it and pick up and let down so much easier. Extend the boom 7 ft with cable running through it set roof trusses on pole building
