We love & miss you Laurel! For the past 20 years, I have kept beautiful paintings such as "Sun Spirit" on my walls, they guided me through every tough time period. She will always be my favorite artist, and I know art!
I met her many years ago in her shop at Bazaar del Mundo in Old Town, San Diego. She and I had the same birthday, Dec. 31, 1945. Seeing this video makes me realize the amount of enthusiasm she had for this life and her painting. I don't think I would have that much courage in the face of illness, but I shall always remember this interview and try to emulate her. She was a beautiful and colorful human.
I remember seeing her art, but only really am now a true fan. I didn’t realize her story at all, and it makes me love it all more. I am sorry to hear that she has passed. She has to know how much we all love her art!
Have waited a long time to see this video. I loved it. I adored Laurel Burch from the time her name first became public and seeing what must surely be her last interview is a real treat. She will be sorely missed.
Laurel, everything you say you want your work to do for people has been done for me through your art. Before I even knew who you were, I began to love your work because it just made me happy. You are an amazing person in your own right and have succeeded in spite of your pain. Your spirit is most inspiring and I'm so glad you have been able to share your soul with others. Thank you so much.
Laurel, you are missed so much here on earth. I hope you are able to continue your art on the other side, it's only fair. What a magnificent life and career, and fighting through such pain and adversity you are an inspiration. Your company continues to give us new treasures to buy and we are grateful for that. I hope I have the pleasure of meeting you someday in heaven.
I knew Laurel and experienced the charm and intensity of the woman and artist. Her spirit lives on in her art. Laurel was a mentor and someone we can all look up to.
I have admired Laurel Burch as a person for a long time and was sad when she passed on. I think she had an immense talent and I love her designs. They speak to me of hope and love and happiness. I recently bought fabrics with her Celestial Dream designs and look forward to making something beautiful with it.
