I had gallbladder surgery this time last year. My surgeon told me I could eat what I wanted; and I have. You still produce bile; you just don't have a storage area for it anymore. For me, I find I'm more comfortable with small meals now, but I haven't made any major changes (tho I wasn't a high fat eater to begin with). I even do carnivore a few times a month. When I was doing all the pre-surgery tests, I ran into several nurses who had had the surgery and they said they now ate what they wanted. Yes, some people have problems after, as with any surgery, but most don't.

Before my elderly aunt passed, she had severe arthritis and lived alone so she had her groceries delivered. I think it’s great for elderly people, disabled people or even people who don’t have a car. I had some groceries delivered when I had Covid because my husband was on a business trip and our son didn’t have his license yet.

I'm 1/2 Japanese and 1/2 Puerto Rican When I go to the oriental food market I buy a 50lb bag of Japanese rice - Botan. I also buy the large cans of soy sauce and sesame oil, fermented pickles, Nori (seaweed) and other condiments. Then again, I make fried rice, sushi, rice balls and just plain rice. When I go to the Hispanic stores, I usually buy 5-10lbs of Spanish rice and condiments. Then I buy American food - like sandwich meats, cheeses, veggies etc. This is for a family of 4 and our 1 year old grandbaby. It's not unusual for our family. However, Chantal is a whole different story. Her diet is full of carbs, sugars, fats, a little bit of protein, and the same for fresh veggies and fruits. Another thing is that it's been proven that different ethnic groups do better on a diet that is geared to their group. The body is able to break down and use the nutrients more efficiently. I know when I eat too much American food - like hamburgers, eggs and fried potatoes, bread, sweets I feel lethargic and unwell.
