In terms of percentage, the difference in saturation is bigger than it seems. The S shows it pretty clearly per my last comment. At point that it’s a matter of what you want to correct more (or what plays more nicely with your sensor and chain). Overall they’re both pretty impressive.
I realized afterward that the saturation shift could have also been because of the two different angles of the lights. One may have been more straight on than the other. But yes, the S is marginally more accurate than the original.
Was going to buy the Amaran 200x and was thinking I'd need to get a case for it.....BUT I have that same Amazon Basics bag you showed, thanks for that!
It's a vlog where we took headshots of the staff, but those clips were quick. here's the impact umbrella tho: amzn.to/3AIlnBy and diffuser: amzn.to/4igR99J
Good video. But the test probably should have been done at 5600K. Most bi color lights have good accurate colors at 3200 (SSI scores around 85 on average vs 90 on the 200x s ). But 5600k is where you will see the big difference (72-75 scores on average for most lights on an SSI verses 90 on the 200x)
I always thought the tungsten side of LEDs was the weakest compared to a bulb tungsten lamp, while the daylight side was definitely better. Let me know if you compare the daylight aspect of the 200xs to a known daylight value. Human model would be nice.
Nope! The Tungsten side often performs and scores better than the daylight side on bi-color LEDs. But yeah, I can do more comparisons when the real work slows down!
Remember when I first got the umbrellas back around the new year and you said "can't wait for you to make a video about them!"? Well, I finally did it!
What do you need RGB color for? I personally went with the 200X S for key lighting subjects and a set of two PT2C and two MCs for my RGB needs. I mostly use RGB for location lighting, not key.

Yes dude! Get on it!
Link?
Where is the previous video that compares the 200 in the 7' umbrella with the 600 in the Light Dome? I don't see it anywhere...

Great point! The studio we were in had 3200K fixtures so I always think 3200K when I'm there. haha

Man..pls use set WB in your camera 😢
You took the words out of my mouth with “magenta.” Shows on chip chart and in portrait, even on RUclips.
I found a 200x for 200$. You think its the better buy? I just make cinematic short films as a hobby.
Nice! Yeah, that's a great deal!
I bet there’s a Mac mini you could unbox somewhere out there in the ether.

Soooo.... this or Amaran 150c?

If I could subscribe 5 times I would!
