    Great review. Especially concerning the Wireless Go. Now I have fully understand how to connect. Thank you Eric.
    About reverb and echo. The Vocaster 2 was made for Podcasting and Conferencing. I ve been using the Vocaster 2 together with a Nat King Bee II for one year and the audience is always blown away by the sound. If you don't want to spend money on the Rodecaster, the Vocaster 2 is a Game Changer for Zoom, Teams and Podcasting.
    Thank you for your great engagement in your Videos Eric

      The Vocastor is from Focusrite Incase you got mixed up there. I still to this day use the Vocastor, and I've reviewed a lot of interfaces. It is very simple to use, no worries about stereo or mono but most of all great gain levels and clean sound.
      I also compare the Vocastor Two, Scarlett 2i2 and the Zoom F3 in another video. The zoom has updated drivers and now puts out proper sound levels to the PC. The Zoom F3 never ever clips, the Vocastor Two and most devices still can. However I still use the Vocastor more than the Zoom but the zoom is great for when you are on the go. Sometimes I go AUX out from the zoom to the camera while recording internally at the same time. When talking on camera indoors the Vocastor is simply more convenient.
      I tried the UA Volt 276 but the Vocastor is slightly better clarity and boost. The 276 does have a compressor to prevent clipping but a compressor is better used when speaking or play as a live band. Compressor isn't good for professional music recordings or pro level production.

    Hey, great review and hooking up the rode wireless actually saved my livestream today, so thanks a lot for this!
    2 quick questions:
    Using a balanced xlr to 1/4" plus a 1/4" to 1/8" inch adapter to route the rode wireless into xlr, i couldnt get a high enough signal and turning up the gain produced a loud hiss. The gain on rode wireless was turned up fully. Any idea what the problem might be?
    I ended up routing the rode wireless into the trrs, which worked perfectly except i couldn't use the built in voice effects.
    That brings me to my second question: i cannot get a regular headset with trrs output to work in the trrs input of the vocaster. I suspect they didn't add plugin power to the trrs, can you confirm that or did i get a faulty device?
    Greatly appreciate your video, thanks a lot again!!!

      Sorry I couldn't honestly tell you, I never used any form of Zoom interface. I used Audio fuze, Maono interfaces (all of them), the Scarlett 2i2, Elgato Wave XLR to name a few. I only received 2 of the cheapest Maono interfaces for review with all else purchased out of pocket. Reviewed many Microphones but all the studio quality units paid out of pocket for spending over $10,000 out of pocket... and this isn't my audio channel, that is in my links but reviewed a bunch here cause that channel is too small and not worth my time and money to do all that work.

    Great video. I have a similar set up. SM7B Vocaster 2 and a Sony ZVE10.
    I’m utilising the camera output on the vocaster into the mic input on camera but what record level should I have the camera on?

    • @sparketech
      @sparketech  6 месяцев назад +1

      I should refer you to my actual Studio channel
      www.youtube.com/@sparkestudio/videos
      Everything RUclips camera and video equipment. Camera level should be set as low as possible, I set my ZV1 whenever I could at 1 out of 30. I use a Fujifilm X-S20 these days, still use the Vocaster 2 and my Zoom F3 that I can connect to almost ANYTHING and record in 32bit float. I also have a Tascam on camera audio interface that I use almost all the time.

      @@sparketech thank you. I tried camera at Level 1 however audio very quiet once recorded. I’m currently at 15 on camera to get a decent level around -12 but lots of hiss. Should I crank up the vocaster gain more to allow a reduction in camera gain?

      @@LifeAboutJames Yes turn camera down and turn the Vocaster up in volume just like I do in this video on my studio channel at 16:04 in that video on my Studio channel
      ruclips.net/video/6jbbXJ3H78M/видео.html
      You'll want to experiment to find at what point works best, you don't want to clip your audio to camera either or so low that you add hiss in post edit boost.

      @@sparketech thank you for the reply. I’ve had another play around and camera at level 7 which seems to be my set ups sweet spot. I’m hovering around-20 to -14 on volume levels on camera. Is that ok in your experience?

    • @sparketech
      @sparketech  6 месяцев назад +1

      @@LifeAboutJames I usually like my camera hovering around -12 even hitting -6 at times. Point is to ensure you don't clip or distort by makes... at volume 1 I think I was only able to hit -14 max... -7 might be your best bet direct to camera. I have no clue if the Sony ZV1 responds identically to the ZVE10. What I do know is that certainly levels like 2, 3 and 4 didn't respond as well as 5 which for me was great. At 1 the volume level is super low but insanely clean as long as I was able to get enough audio but an SM7B is super silent without a preamp.
      what I loved about the vocaster as I showed with the line out you can boost so much more than using the volume level knob without clipping the audio on the interface.

  • @enigmaticreverieproduction5169

    Can you use it without installing anything? Can I plug it into my work laptop and use a better mic for calls and Webex meetings? Or do I have to use the software and drivers?

    • @sparketech
      @sparketech  Год назад

      You do not need to use the software but it does work better with the drivers and may be a problem if you do not install the drivers. I simply know I needed the drivers for my recording program to detect correctly. Once the drivers are installed you should be able to use the Vocaster Two for meetings and any computer related task needing audio. In fact if you wanted to you could even use it as an output device and we're headphones to have all your audio play thru it. I still to this day use this interface... I also Reviewed 3 Maono interfaces, the Elgato wave XLR, Audio fuse Rev2, Scarlett 2i2... And the Zoom F3 which is the only other interface I use but the Vocaster is far better for online meetings.

    It is useless for live singing if it does not have built-in reverb and delay effects. It's just for marketing purposes since you get free hardware. Is that what the preset voice enhancement does? Realistically, that's a cheap option as well.

    • @sparketech
      @sparketech  Год назад

      Never thought about those effects for singing. The voice enhancer is a podcast / game streaming thing. I personally find the Vocaster Two overly cut down, costs more to get less, it simply has a lot of gain to boost mic volumes. In another video I compare this vs the Scarlett 2i2 gen 3 where the extra gain volume is noticeable.
      I have a new interface ordered that has 32but float, mono left and right channel, it is smaller and might even be better than the Vocaster Two. It does not arrive till next week. It also does not have a built in reverb, most devices want you to add in edit. It has an output delay built in. What 32bit float does is it prevents clipped audio from being too loud. It is also a higher quality recording with less. noise. It has a battery power option and USB portable power option with no computer required since it has built in memory.

    • @sparketech
      @sparketech  Год назад

      For live singing there are many better options. I have not reviewed any devices that I would consider "great" for live singing but I have reviewed interfaces from Maono, most of my interfaces are on my other "Not Bios Studio" channel.
      The Maono devices such as the AM100, the AME2A include echo, decay time , denoise, and a cheap sounding auto tune. Comica recently released an interface with a high price but with many features that are not functioning as it should, which might be fixed in future updates. It has features that would normally be good for singers... Maybe one day it could be good but not yet. Features for singers are more often found in sound boards and not as often in audio interfaces.

We can't keep buying till we have a complete device.

      @@fernandcosmin441 Apple costs far more. The Asus Zenfone has a better zoom but gets into the Apple phone entry price range. OnePlus I see no reason for it being a 2 step process (according to 2 different commenters on other videos) just to enable external mics. The fact that Android other than Samsung and a few others put external mics at extreme volumes makes zero sense. That is the operating system for Android issue I believe.
