Unfortunately, there is no word on returning logos to being stitched on rather than ironed-on. All these changes, using fewer stitches per seam and lower quality zippers, makes me wonder if MLB is going through financial problems we are unaware of. For a league that pays players, on average, $18,000 per game, it boggles my mind why they try to save $40 or so on their uniforms.
They financial landscape at the moment is affecting everyone. Billionaire owners' profits are down to just a few billion and they want to recoup that difference by reducing costs. What do we get? Lower salaries and crappier products. What a world.
Honestly and sincerely…PLEASE, give me one example where this roll out was an improvement. Literally every part of these ‘innovations’ not only failed to improve what we already had…it made things worse every step of the way.
I think the idea of "breathability" that they were pushing at the beginning is what Nike thought was innovative, but in reality the material is just so different that the sweat stains became so much more apparent and the pants were see through. I don't even know if they predicted that but they likely thought they were doing something here and it just completely fell flat on their face

My partner and I both sew as hobbies, and even at our scale (ie, retail or open to public wholesalers) using quality zippers and fabrics isn’t hugely more expensive than using lookalikes. You never want to cheap out on zippers because quality drops off super fast with price.
A few months later and nothing changed. With the hot weather it’s even more catastrophic. Pitchers are sweating like crazy, how in hell is it good performance wise ??? 🤦♂️

I read that today on my news feed. I knew the fix was coming later than sooner, not this season though. Other than the fans complaining, it was the players that spoke in volume that MLBPA listened. It would be a financial issue if MLB tried to fix the issue this season. Hopefully all goes well into next season.

I'm just curious, for those of us who buy authentic player jerseys for $450 with the intent of wearing what the guys are wearing on the field, is Nike and MLB going to do something about the fact that their jerseys are going to change now because they released an insufficient product to both players and consumers? Are they going to stop selling a product that is going to be discontinued in a few months, misleading consumers? Are they going to offer a jersey trade for those who bought authentics or any jerseys? Now the once, prestigious, on-field authentic player jersey I own, will then be considered a bad memory as the names around me at the ball park will cast a shadow over my tiny little rainbow of letters on the back of my $450 authentic. I know, I'm the sucker who buys them but I had to see for myself how bad they were before I jumped on board. The one takeaway that has grown on me is the dry fit material. During a hot and sunny day game in San Diego out in Ghalleger Square, chasing around a 2 year old, I was really feeling the difference and the dry fit materal definitely helped. Don't like how there is no more perforated, stretchy sides and armpits though.
MLB is to blame more than anyone cause they approved it. Jays just got there baby blues jerseys. Completely ridiculous that teams don’t have there whole line. Such a mess.

Are they going to stop selling a product that is going to be discontinued in a few months, misleading consumers? Are they going to offer a jersey trade for those who bought authentics or any jerseys? Now the once, prestigious, on-field authentic player jersey I own, will then be considered a bad memory as the names around me at the ball park will cast a shadow over my tiny little rainbow of letters on the back of my $450 authentic. I know, I'm the sucker who buys them but I had to see for myself how bad they were before I jumped on board. The one takeaway that has grown on me is the dry fit material. During a hot and sunny day game in San Diego out in Ghalleger Square, chasing around a 2 year old, I was really feeling the difference and the dry fit materal definitely helped. Don't like how there is no more perforated, stretchy sides and armpits though.
