When the Timbers are on they are on. It wasn't just a scoring barrage but also really smooth and heads up soccer. Very pleasing to the eyes.

What a great way to open the season with our new coach...The first half was a stunning display! Many solid performances and the addition go Antony will only help...Colorado did get some good opportunities though but our keeper had a great night

Its an entertaining league but it’s nowhere near one of the best leagues in the world when it comes to the quality of football. It’s like watching amateurs play, it’s so slow and way off any of the top 6 european leagues, brazil, and J league. Don’t get blinded just because messi plays there now.

It's a promising league, but really far from the top. Almost all European, most South American and Asian leagues are better. Let's be clear: an old champion playing in a league won't make it golden.
It really lacks the promotion/relegation system, and a developed club culture. Timbers are an exception, they have solid supporters and they cheer everytime and not only when the team scores.
Hopefully in 5-10 years things will be even better.

They thought they had it in the bag because they picked up Zack Steffen, but he's bound to miss some if the defense allows 1,000 shots. They need a better back line,
portland has the best atmosphere almost like in europe it can compete in some cases
European atmospheres aren't always electric - but you won't hear that from a European.

All of my teams (they won't be named) suck almost all of the time.
Worst team on paper for me also, even if they got Steffen in goal and Djordje Mihailovic creting chances.

Colorado has added some talented new pieces but they are overwhelmed by a historically good franchise in the form of the Portland Timbers. MLS owners must increase the salary cap to at least $10 million and maybe some of these struggling franchises will have a greater chance of gathering some high level talent. Yes, it would mean the top franchises in MLS will benefit more but it will leave more opportunities for top talent to "slip through the cracks" and find their way to these mid or small clubs.
Rapids's fans, you are in for another very long season. Poor quality on all sectors and no capacity to overcome on the short and medium terms. Portland always provide with such an European stadium vibe, and I simply love it. Even when it lacks some quality, that crowd can really enter the game. No need on this one tho, great third goal and easy win.
People who think RSL is gonna win the Rocky Mountain Cup 😂
Not to take away from the timbers but what the hell were the Rapids doing on that first goal. That ball was a slow sitter that two Rapids players utterly failed to react to.
