  • The Birds of Rhodes - Spring Migration 2019
Part of the footage was taken at the Kremasti Bridge, about 5km to the airport of Rhodes. The birds were foraging in the late afternoon between 20th and 26th of April.
    Highlight at Kremasti:
    Little Crake - Baillon`s Crake - Spotted Crake - Temminck`s stint
Check out the place on Google Maps:

You should park next to the bridge an follow the water (little creek 10-20cm deep) towards the sea (max 1-2km) there a little ponds covered with moss and little vegetation (reed).
My favorite spot was the second litte road that crosses the river. That was best for all the crakes within 5-10m distance.
Other parts of the footage was taken in the mountains around Lindos.
    Highlight for me at Lindos:
    Cretzschmar`s bunting - Bonelli`s eagle - red-rumped swallow - Eastern olivaceous warbler

there is a hiking trail, that starts next to the Hotel (Caesars Gardens Hotel & Spa) and takes around 2-3 hours depending on your pace. Just follow the red markings on the stones. It was great to watch Cretzschmar`s bunting (at least 10 birds singing) and 2 Bonelli`s eagles were flying over the mountains. A group of Lesser kestrels was hunting in the area (unfortunately no pictures)
