The okapi is a strange looking giraffid artiodactyl mammal that is endemic to the Ituri Rainforest, located in the northeast of the Democratic Republic of Congo, in Central Africa. The species the closest living relative to giraffe. Contrary to what many think, the okapi is not closely related to zebras.
This is just one of two okapis in the london zoo.
