Very nice, cant wait to see this thing go for a rip. If you dont mind my request, id love an onboard video where the rider starts out low (damn near lugging it) and just lets it climb to the moon before hitting the next gear. I want to hear it roar into it's power band lol
@@malcolmoastler3039 i cant wait man lol i got the same exact motor. Your the only guy doing this right now as far as ive seen on the internet. The fact that you've also got it mounted longitudinally just makes it 100% cooler than the project already was lol
I'd cut the head about .040" and round over the sharp edge on the quench pad to chamber area, andmirror polish the chamberand qurnch area, and polish the pistons, maybe look into ceracoat ceramic insulation coating on the head and piston, possibly the exhaust port area!! After smoothing things over in theremaking it flow smoother, . Ceramic coat the inside of the exhaust also!! Possibly keep it alot cooler, prevent discoloration and possibly severe burns, the insulation keeping the exhaust gasses hot and moving , adding a turbo could be awesome, 140hp to 3 times that fairly easy, also going to rotory valves!!
Do you think it's maybe had water in the fuel/crankcase and it's only got into the bottom cylinders from Ummm gravity lol, what an awesome engine and excellent choice, I've seen that fractured conrod method in very expensive high performance automotive engines, but not your everyday quality 👏 😀
Two stroke engines intake goes in the crankcase unlike four stroke engines. In many ways the world may have been a little to quick to condemn the two stroke engines which i believe in many ways are More Efficient than four stroke FAR SIMPLER and lighter due to LESS moving parts, generally a crankshaft, conrod, piston!! Modern weed wackers are four stroke revving their Nuts off, then occasionally BOOM No More, two stroke engines are happy to rev upside down or what ever as the oil travels with fuel lubricates on it,s way to the combustion chamber, much MUCH MORE SIMPLE BETTER!!!!!!!! ENDLESSLY BETTER than a 30cc four stroke engine revving its Nuts off!!!!
A wise man, Harry Brinkman says nothing but soapy water and 2 stroke oil should ever hit the inside of your Block and no brand piston will ever top a Merc Piston. I live by both.
Thanks for posting this. Outboard engines were a mystery, no more.
Waiting anxiously for the first ride. Very well engineered project.
never seen a big end bearing with needle rollers in two halfs like that before very interesting
This channel deserves many more views.

max revs 6000 as an outboard, it must have an awesome torque curve
the V8 pulls away from idle in 5th no problem, dead smooth

Hi Malcome, really intrigued with your project I am about to start on an Optimax engine on a thrill and so good to see your progess.
Very strong platform the V6 Mercury, F1 Race versions producing around 400HP @ 10k RPM. Looking forward to the start up
400hp omg please no!
I've been waiting anxiously for the next video
Well that pencil's dead now. Fascinating video though.
Shouldn't you separate the exhaust ports so 6 fatty pipes from dirt bikes will fit?

don't need more power, but ceramic coating the exhaust manifold cover is a good idea. thanks
Love these video`s.

good thought, but they're the top cylinders on the outboard
Apologies for my last comment. I am going to put an Optmax 125 into my prototype gyroplane. Would love to correspond with you
sure. I'm pretty brief though
Awsome

Chev do excatly the same thing with their rods

Me thinks that another say v10 instead of a sigma v8 motor might have been an easier job for you
