    Thanks for the video, I had a few questions and doubts after my own run through of the tutorials so it was good to watch someone else and compare rule interpretations.
    I do think at 24;30 Nightfeather would of had to take a Parting Blow however. On page 18 of the rules book it refers to moving between Zones rather than tiles as you worded it. So in this situation in my mind at least Nightfeather would of left the Zone on the first tile he started his turn on to move to a new zone on the corridor tile suffering a parting blow from the Brute as he left the zone he occupied.
    The blow would of been rolled at advantage though as Firesoul and Forgewarden were in the same zone. Same page also reads "If there are more heroes than enemies in the zone, the parting blow roll has advantage. (Disadvantage if the opposite applies)
    Also keep in mind a parting blow doesn't do damage it only halts the movement.
    Anyway, thanks again for the video. I'll subscribe incase you decide to do a campaign set up and play through. It'll be a few weeks before I can get mine to the table properly but I've been reading the rules required to set up the encounters and it'd be good to see a second opinion on those too!

    Great vid.
    As for placing The corps on that last tile.
    Me and my friend placed it right in front of the entrance. In The rule book it says smth like this: if there's a conflict always choose what's best for The enemy.
    Page 23 - i thought that was The best option tho it didn't turned out to be the best option for the wounded Hobgoblin - i can promise he didn't suffer any longer xD

    Thank you for placing this!
    We finished our first attempt yesterday and wanted to verify we did (most) stuff correctly
    I do have two questions/remarks on the exploration part:
    - the turn order is fixed I think also for exploration based on the last line on page25?
    - after doing an exploration that char seems to end in the room we had to add to the board based on the line on page 28; "place the hero on the tile". (Which kind of sucks when you do an explore with a clothie) 😅

    My friend got his last week so we tried it at the weekend and it was fun, we had a few struggles understanding some rules with the way the tutorial is laid out (a lot of reading back and forth) and issues with some rules when setting up for the first chapter as tpo us there were a few things that weren't that clear in the rules like what the threshhold was and the runes on the board, but despite our frustrtions we enjoyed playing it and one you get the hang of it it's good fun, I played the fire mage too and she's great :D

      @@FliksTabletopGaming so we had a great time with this, played the tutorial through and the start of chapter one, the gameplay feels like a nice mix of gloom haven and D&D, combat plays smoothly and it’s fairly easy to stay on top of things, at least early on, we aren’t too sure about the shuffling of initiative each turn as we found it to be a bit clumsy, maybe it would be better to shuffle if a new enemy type is introduced to the instance or when one gets dispatched, but not a major complaint, the symbols on some of the smaller cards are a bit hard to see, where they are featured in the text, so that’s probably our only real complaint so far, I certainly think it’s got potential and will be on our table for the foreseeable future 👍

    • @FliksTabletopGaming
      @FliksTabletopGaming  2 года назад +2

      I’ve played the first part of chapter one now too and also found it clumsy constantly shuffling the marching order especially when you know where each card is since they have different backs.
      I also wasn’t sure if you could play out a round before shuffling again after combat if the final enemy in a battle died while others had yet to act that turn.

      @@FliksTabletopGaming ye it’s not entirely clear for sure, maybe they will provide a rule update or two after mass market feedback, we are planning on putting some card sleeves on the initiative cards to disguise them 👍

    Hey great video, that rulebook is horrendous. I was just curious I think whenever you explore a new tile your character is placed into the new tile. Just wanted to double check in case I’m doing it wrong lol.

    How do you like it so far. My only question and even during the kickstarter campaigne is how does the story hold up? Although its cool how the randomized dungeons work, I hope the story doesn't suffer.

    • @FliksTabletopGaming
      @FliksTabletopGaming  2 года назад +2

      I’ve only read the first steps of the campaign but I would describe it as amateur fiction at best. Very sloppy and cringeworthy.
      For instance you are immediately met by someone on the road who refers to your group as ‘heroes’ despite having done nothing heroic and presumably are aspiring heroes since the point is to be bard sung.

  • @warpaint9385

    Yeah I didn’t understand what the crease was either.
    I finished the tutorial by moving into the last room and placing an exit. Prior to that though I moved over one hobgoblin (token) which starts an encounter. I think that was written on the card.

    • @craigbrown04

      I thought the crease was the faint yellow line down the middle.

    Shows how absolutely terrible the rule book is as I’ve completed the first chapter and have missed so many little rules. I’m not sure you should have doors down as rule book (page 36) is the only place that they are mentioned and that states that “some doors have a door symbol, indicating the heroes should place a door token on them” and then “doors are always placed with the open side showing” the rules don’t explicitly state where this symbol appears in the game but I think it is the portcullis symbol you got? I wish you would do a video on how the Echo token works because that is a bit muddled like every other rule in this game!

    • @FliksTabletopGaming
      @FliksTabletopGaming  2 года назад +1

      I’ve had some trouble with how and when Echo stuff happens too. In general I find Steamforged stuff needs some house ruling to be made better/smoother as a play experience and I don’t think Bardsung is any different.

    • @johnberry5296
      @johnberry5296 2 года назад

      @@FliksTabletopGaming I think the token spawns on the start tile, and moves freely if there aren’t closed doors on the map because it is all deemed to be the same “area”. Not really sure what the point of the doors are anyway (other than to sell more add-ons during the Kickstarter campaign?) because the example picture on Page 37 of the rule book shows the echo token just moves through them anyway? Then the monsters just spawn on your tile when it gets less than one area away so apparently wolves can open doors? Starting to realise both the rulebook and the shoddy rules themselves are both issues.

    • @johnh5013
      @johnh5013 2 года назад +1

      @@johnberry5296 Hi John I assume you've probably worked this out for yourself now. But the purpose of closed doors is to create areas (PAGE 36) this slows the progress of the echo which moves from one area to another each time it moves. If you only have one area (maybe haven't closed doors) the echo will on its first movement move right next to your heros BGG has some clearer explanation of what happens in this one area scenario

      @@johnh5013 No, I never worked it out, I sold my copy as I was extremely disappointed in the whole thing. I don’t think I’ll ever back something like this on Kickstarter again as I’ve had bad luck before. (Waste Knights was awful). SFG are a certain no -no, I’d heard bad things about them but justified the purchase because Sir Ian Livingstone was involved but when I see him next I’ll let him have it!!!
