OPINION: The whole group of these U.S. politicians ( Bush's administration) must have been warmongering criminals. In 2008 the price of crude oil swelled to over $140 per barrel, it's highest peak ever. The U.S was promoting wars or conflicts almost worldwide. U.S. Citizens and residents were stripped of civil rights by government atrocities such as The patriot Act. And, by Autumn of 2008, the whole of the U.S. and much of the Capitalist world was pushed into an unprecedented financial crisis/depression under these same men's lack of leadership and unmitigated greed. The gentleman from China is probably more honest and trustworthy than Cheney the Dick.

A tremendous number of people. nearly any North Korean that can flee and get into the USA to ask for Asylum (or just live illegally), around 60,000 Mainland Chinese manage to get into the USA illegally and declare and ask for political asylum. Pretty much the people from 170 countries in the world - if they can find a way - they want to live in the USA and they try. Here is a fun fact: 100% of 100% of all kinds of Visas to live, work, study or immigrate to the USA are 100% full in 100% of US Embassies around the world. Realy, its like 300% which is to say 3-years backlogged.
This may well surprise people but 100% of ALL visa applications in the British, Australian, German, etc embassies are always 100% full.
You would, given only 1 choice of a nation to live in for the rest of your life, you would choose an American passport and citizenship.

Please check out these FACTS that are on the Web: "In 250 years of existence as a nation, the US has fought against 29 sovereign countries. (In Fact, since 1785, we have been involved, for 231 years, in some kind of war. And this wars, against all varieties of nations. From going against the Sultan of Morocco, to invading the tiny island of Grenada, 1983. Well, this means that in our entire history, we have only had 17 years of peace, and even fewer, cuz here the almost 5 years of our Civil War (Union/Confed 1861‒1865), are Not counted, since this war was not with another country, but against us. And the wars against the Native Nations of America either are not counted, for the same reason). Anyway: We fought against 29 countries. We have "Grown" 711 the size of our territory from the original 13 colonies. Our Economic, Political and Military development was established thanks to the Piracy, the Slavery, to the Looting, the Massacres, the Opium Trade or Cocaine Traffic, the indiscriminate sale of weapons on a global scale, and, the Weakness of many abused sovereign nations. We have provoked with total impunity, 12 Genocides and 9 Massacres, ‒inside and outside our own borders‒, and Assassinations of Gov’t. Leaders, Coups d'État and Economic Blockades in 6 UN member nations. Between 1947 and 1989, the US tried to change other nations gov’ts 73 times. It includes 66 covert Ops. And 7 overt ones. In Civil Wars: The US has taken advantage of and intervened without justification in the following Civil Wars: In Marquesas Island. (Massacre. 1813). US Forces seize Nuku Hiva Island (French Polynesia 1813), and establish here «The First US Naval Base», in the Pacific. For them to get heated like this must mean they think the US has more than crossed the arbitrary line on numerous occasions. China has a rich and complex history spanning millennia, with significant contributions to philosophy, art, science, and technology. It's a country of immense diversity, with a vast population and a rapidly growing economy.
Some of the aspects that people often admire about China include:
    * Economic growth: China has experienced remarkable economic development in recent decades, lifting millions out of poverty.
    * Ancient civilization: China boasts a long and illustrious history, with ancient philosophies like Confucianism and Taoism still influencing societies today.
    * Cultural richness: Chinese culture is incredibly diverse, encompassing various art forms, cuisines, and traditions.
    * Technological advancements: China is a global leader in many technological fields, including artificial intelligence, renewable energy, and high-speed rail.
It's important to remember that China, like any country, has its own unique challenges and complexities.

And why should China "move away from state directed planning"? Just because the US says or expects it to? Phew, , doctrinaire constipation...Thanks, Dick. "Expectations have not been borne out"...whose expectations? This is sickening, truly. "The regime in Beijing has become more repressive and more militantly nationalistic"...and then, "China has grown to be more assertive"...meaning less supplicating to US demands.....and then, as if the US does not use its economic clout and military power in every direction one care to look. Anyone who care to read this will understand that the hypocrisy makes me sick. I give Cheney the thumbs down, and Li Zhaoxing both thumbs up.

Actually, looks more and more like China will never pass the US in size of it's GDP or economy. Even with the multiple attempts to manipulate stats to prove otherwise. Growth of China is slowing. Past target dates of passing the US Economically have been pushed back or surpassed and now it is just stated that someday China will overtake the US economically. I will probably be long dead of natural causes as will you before that happens at current growth rates. So I do not buy into your premise that US is uncomfortable with China's growth. What the US is uncomfortable with is stolen IP and repeated attempts by China to follow the earlier Japan model of the 1980's of subsidizing state firms, over producing and then dumping products on various other countries to make a quick buck. United States went through that crap in the 1980's with Japan and it is not going to tolerate it again via China.
