The first time I listened to this song I was on acid and it seeped into every pore of my skin, right down to my soul. It's been my favorite deftones song ever since.
I've really been itching to make some of Deftones music into different graphic novels with each song being a different story. I've started out with The Fly (Change), contemplating whether to do this one or Digital Bath next. I mean, I'm just wanting to do this for the band, expecting very little to nothing in return. I just think giving music a new outlet would be a neat idea. There is no added dialogue when doing these chapters. The only words used in the chapters are the actual lyrics and the pacing of the story is to align much with the speed of the song. In other words, when the song intensifies, so does the story. This way its a brand new way of looking at things without being too far removed. In this case, however, I always had the feeling that this song would work as some post apocalyptic world involving a revolting society that is literally shedding its skin and turning into the horrible creatures. As they do, military forces come in to eradicate all the infected but soon start to develop the same effects until its just one huge war of zombie like werewolves unleashes, ripping out each other's hearts and killing each other in a massive frenzy, lol. I'd probably have it rather detailed, too. Anyway, its just an idea at least....
I could also see the track "Hole in the Earth" being another graphic novel chapter, though not entirely planned out. I just basically envision a kid having the ability to create holes in the ground, sucking everyone and everything in, designed much in the same way the manga for Akira was done. But I think before I'd ever do those, I'd need to see what the band (and their label) would say. I mean, come hell or high water, I'm still doing the first work and sending it through. I just hope it does successfully enough to warrant other tracks to be made into such illustrated works.
I went ahead and started working on the storyboards for "The Fly" which is, of course, a direct adaptation to the track off the White Pony album, "Change in the House of Flies". Next, I will be spending about a week (starting today) doing the inking and second draft. Then next week will be going in for all the work with water colours and minor digital painting touch ups/filters. After that, its all just minor touchups for letters and text, contacting the band, etc. Then, once that's done, I'll have to set up for all the funding to pay for the publishing of the work. But why do it? Well, because I feel that I can do this and make it something different, with not much to really gain in return because its a tribute. But the MAIN reason for doing these would be to honour Chi, who sadly passed away years ago. I wanted to work hard to give back something they worked hard to share with me. I think Chi himself would love this idea and that alone in itself is enough reason for why it should be made. Also, if any profits do come from it, I want them to support the family of Chi first and most importantly. The second can go to the band for all their hardwork making the music. I really want nothing in return except to have people say "that's the guy who did the artwork!" Lol. Its kinda just my way of giving back.
Each story made is about roughly 20 - 25 pages with maybe a handful more for stand alone artwork included. I eventually hope to have enough completed for an anthology of at least 5 chapters but 10 chapters max. That would then, at least, make the collection of these works 100 - 250 pages. Again, I think doing something like this for a band like these guys is long over due. I just hope it does as well as I hope....

Great song by one of my favorite bands. Chino Moreno must have a sore throat for weeks after he performs it. Koi No Yokan doesn't have a ''bad'' song...Unlike most modern bands, Deftones don't toss out new garbage every few months.
When I started going to shows back in my late teens and early 20's... there was this venue called Eleanore Rigby's that I saw so many bands at.... Attila, Emmure, Terror, Texas in July, Acacia Strain... the list goes on and on.... but in between sets, or when you walked in... you'd always hear The Deftones. Always: This track, amongst others... was always playing. I'm glad I found this.
This is simply an amazing band morphing into an incredible one. Koi No Yokan is going to be remembered as one of the greatest albums ever recorded. Not much more to say.
The sense one can have upon first meeting a person that the two of you are going to fall in love. Differs from “love at first sight” as it does not imply that the feeling of love exists, only the knowledge that a future love is inevitable....Great name for an album. Especially a Deftones

Koi No Yokan is a truly beautiful concept. It can defined the sense can have upon first meeting another person that the two of them are going to fall in love. In other words, it is the knowledge one has that he/she is going to fall in love with another person. This differs from the idea “love at first sight” in that it does not imply that the feeling of love exists, rather it refers to the knowledge that a future love is inevitable
Deftones are one of the proudest hardest bands I know, they will never sell out to sell records like 9 in 10 bands generally would. Abe, Steph,Chino,Chi always have a place in my heart ;)
Just saw these guys at Warfield. They performed a bunch of new songs along with all the classics and I remembered why seeing Deftones is a spiritual journey.
That it is! Finally got to see them for the first time after 19 yrs of wanting and missed opportunities. It was well worth the wait and i hope I get a chance to do it again! Love these lyrics. Chino has a very down to earth "out of the box", if you will, perspective of the world and it's people within it. I think the meaning of these lyrics, are that people shouldn't be fearful of letting themselves out. Showing who they really are, instead of just being in your shell, with a face. LOVE THIS FUCKING BAND!

I can't believe people think they suck now, deftones are one of the only bands that have kept the good shit up! in my eyes that makes them a huge success!

That voice... its an instrument thats chills your whole body throughout, just stunning!
Gets me pumped every time.
this song is soo strong. deftones has always delivered strong lyrics and sound
Most underrated band in general. They deserve a lot of nominations, grammy's and awards for what they do.
Such an underrated album
Have you seen the comments?
This is your chance
Revolt Resist
Open your chest
Look down reach in
What an epic tune. Shedding your skin; showing your texture! Fuck yeah!
Finally I got into their music!
Noice. I just started listening to them about 5 months ago, couple their music with some THC, it's a good time.
Welcome
Heavy riffs and Chino's songs will blow away my boredom.
The sense one can have upon first meeting a person that the two of you are going to fall in love. Differs from “love at first sight” as it does not imply that the feeling of love exists, only the knowledge that a future love is inevitable....Great name for an album. Especially a Deftones
This is Your Chance... Revolt, Resist!
Open you chest, Look down, Reach in.
Shedding Your Skin, Showing Your Texture.
Time to Let
Everything Inside Show.
You're Cutting All Ties Now and Forever
Time to let
Everything Outside You
This is Your Test... Come Forth, Confess!
Extend Your Tongue, Speak Out, Go On.
Shedding Your Skin, Showing Your Texture.
Time to Let
Everything Inside Show.
You're Cutting All Ties Now and Forever
Time to let
Everything Outside You
Shed your casing, Show your lines And shapes.
Wear your insides, On the outside
Show your enemy, What you look like.
What you look like...(2x)
From the Inside...(2x)
Cutting All Ties Now and Forever... Time to Let!!!
Shedding Your Skin, Showing Your Texture.
Time to Let
Everything Inside Show.
You're Cutting All Ties Now and Forever
Time to let
Everything Outside You
Shed your casing, Show your lines And shapes.
Wear your insides, On the outside
Show your enemy, What you look like.
What you look like...(2x)
From the Inside...(2x)
2:53 is the best Deftones moment Ever!
My favorite Deftones song 🤘 So underrated
Love your take!! Chino and the band cover everything!! The one band I've haven't seen!! I need to!!!
They Never come to the east coast!! Chino we need you!!
I thought this was gonna be one of those dark/slow Deftones songs.. the shit in my pants from the beginning scream proved im wrong. XD
This and Tempest are an everyday must since they came out. Deftones FOREVER.
I wish the first two seconds would have been drawn out longer. That very short part seems so eerily majestic.
Saw them live, really fucking amazing.
Unique sound, unique Deftones feeling.... now words to describe... how the music can describe a sensation
I agree which is why deftones has a huge fan built up over time
Incredible song. Catchy and well-written. Great job, Deftones! My favorite song since Beauty School.
Deftones music is essential to my life! They've helped me get through a lot of shit, from the moment I heard them! 🥂🔥🍯💜🖤🤎💛🌀💫☄️
2:40 - 3:00 .... jeeeeezzzzussss
I agree! Deftones has always put out amazing albums. THey have and will always be my favorite band of all time.
I had such a hard week man, when I came home and saw this online I almost cried haha. I love you guys, thanks for the new track. We've been hungry, the music scene is in disarray. Save us!
What an amazing song dude just ...WOW!
Deftones are gods of music
Desperation, restriction and freedom, pleasure, pain and loss... All these feelings churning and awakening within your body...
They keep coming up with bad ass songs. So rad.
This album is so great
this and Bored were the two songs i didnt get to here live Sun. night in Charlotte, NC but it had to be one of the best sets ive ever seen! They fucking rocked im so glad i got to see them WOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
มักแฮงอะหลี่เพลงนิ โพดละฟังตอนได่กะม่วน ข่อย love deftones
from what i have heard, it will be yet another great album from the Tones. They have yet to dissapoint me in last 15 years which is amazing for a band to keep pumping out awesome records over that span. Excellent band.
Deftones are so underrated. To call them amazing is an understatement.
I was on the bus falling asleep then this song started playing, bruh the way I jolted awake on the bus T_T
I can't believe people think they suck now, deftones are one of the only bands that have kept the good shit up! in my eyes that makes them a huge success!
DAMN!!! I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS SONG FOR 7 YEARS!!!! Thank you random Nu Metal playlist on youtube that lead me to here.
Makes me happy some of the bands i grew up listening to are comming back and still hitting hard.
