The whole kit from the box to the last screw just exudes quality and depth of thought. Rob really is a one in a million, not many could pull this off. I'm sure everyone that got one of these will cherish it for many years to come. Just awesome! :D
I'm friends with Rob and we had many a conversion regarding the 959. He really is a genuine, enthusiastic bloke which shows in what he develops for us. I've got kit number #25 and looking forward to building it to go along with the up and coming 956. Well done Rob 👏
It was an extremely well done kit and just goes to show you how passionate some folks are about this hobby! Rob really went above and beyond to produce a tremendous kit and experience!
@@poorboysrci will definitely be building mine in the future. Rob nailed it thats for sure. Comes across as a lovely chap with his heart truly in this project. The detail is amazing, from the box to the packaging and beyond. I have mine sat here in its original delivery box and it'll be a little while until it is built...... but it most certainly WILL be built. I just hope I can do it justice
Excellent video Fil. 🙏 I've been following this awesome project since Rob first announced it. Cant help but admire the guys dedication and commitment to the level of detail. Definitely one for 'our' generation, tapping into all that wonderful nostalgia that us eighties kids grew up with. Unfortunately a little out of my price range, but if i had have got one i would almost definitely kept it new in box, especially as i already own a few original 959s for shelf queens and a runner. The presentation of this project would be way too nice to hack into! Speaking of attention to detail,he even provided a tyre toot hole in the bag......how cool is that?!😅 👍 👍
That tire bag hole made my day! Without it, I think i would have had to rip into that package! Lol! But yeah, Rob sure did nail it. Like you said, he took that 80's feeling we all remember so well, and elevated it to the 21st century experience. A real work of art. Glad you enjoyed the vid, my man!
Absolutely perfect creation Rob done with a 959. Some people get such beautiful things for guys like me to drool over. Thanks Fil for the go over on this machine. 😊
This car is great I will never own one but he hit the nail on the head. For me it was great growing up with out the internet or phones and just skateboarding or riding the BMX. We were very lucky now baby's have a i-pad to keep them happy.
Lovely video Fil and great work from Rob building this lovely kit in the first place. What a labour of love for this great car improving on the original. Really enjoyed this video tonight buddy 🙌🏻
Great idea, Fil! So awesome you got to feature James' kit on the channel, of course a shame you didn't get your own... I didn't get one either, but I watched all Rob's videos on it, it's a nice project! What a great story, this. Thanks for sharing it with us all, buddy!
That is so nice what a kit, if I had the cash I wouldn’t even think twice about getting one. It’s so nice it would be hard to build. I’d just want to look at it all day.
What an honour and a blast to be featured here. Many thanks to Fil for getting the PROJECT959 shown and James for lending his kit to Fil for this overview. I must admit, at the times I was asking myself WTF I was up to, trying to get so much done in between all the other work I have but seeing it all come together was well worth it all. Keeping the owners in the loop was critical for me, weekly updates kept them informed of progress and struggles and their messages of encouragement really did lighten up some gloomy days. A humbling journey knowing that all those new owners have a piece of my work with them. Oh and my name. Rob Mitchell. I was 9 when they 'borrowed' it :) Cheers, Rob
Hello Rob. Please think about reproducing some more of your stunning 959 rims (3-part-rims as they are in the kit). I am very interested in buying a set.
I'm still trying to wrap my head around how many hours you must've invested into this project. It's just awesome. Thanks for taking the time for the video (even if it took a few takes! Lol!) 👊🏼

Yes sir, it's an absolute experience cracking this box open and getting to go through Rob's creation. It truly is a "next level" experience. 😁

Wow! Amazing detail and a great story to boot! Excellent!
It's uncanny, the level of detail he put into his design. I would've quit at the mud flaps. Lol!

This kit's so great. I wanted one, too. But budgetwent into other cars. So thanks for showing Fil.
Great that there's a hole in the bag😂

Thanks for sharing this bespoke kit. Rob did an excellent job there. Thought he only piloted the Buggy Champ.😂

I believe it! It's so beautifully packaged, it needs to stay that way. 😁
