- Real talk, I love fish sauce, but that was gone out the window when I went Vegan. Fast fwd 7 years, the options are plentiful now! I was thoroughly impressed with some of the brands I've tried here. But, don't get me wrong, some were nasty AF. Here's a video featuring the best testing brand of fish sauce imo. Hope this was helpful for my brothers and sistas who be missin that umami flavor of the sea!
Keep saving the fishies ya'll!

I'm not vegan, but I cook vegan a lot. I lived in Vietnam for 6 years, and tested all the vegan fish sauces there and compared them to real fish sauce and there was one that REALLY tasted like fish sauce. It's the Co-Op Mart brand vegan fish sauce (nuoc mam chay), you might be able to order it online. If you're a vegan traveling in Viet Nam, stock up while you're there. Also An Chay restaurants are Vegan restaurants, and there should be at least one in any city, though not the villages.
thanks for sharing this!
Also, if youv'e never tried freezing tofu before cooking it, it totally changes the texture. I freeze, defrost, and squeeze out the water of tofu for a meatier texture that also absorbs flavor really well. Sometimes I will even do it twice. It's what I use to make vegan fish and chips. @@goodlifecookin
What is the Co-Op brand? I am familiar with Co-Op Mart but not familiar with their brand products
Your Tofuna reaction.🤣🤣🤣 Thanks for sharing! Adding the 24 sauce on my list.
lol! hope you found this helpful. thx for watching!
This was exactly what I needed! Thank you for being so thorough!
Awesome! Glad to help
This is exactly what I’m looking for. Thank you for this review!
Glad it was helpful!
Wow... the best vegan fish sauce review today! THANK YOU!
Ayeeee thx!!
I appreciated this video so much. Any chance you might do a similar video rating vegan oyster sauce? It can become so expensive to buy and test ingredients. Thanks!
Hahaha dude what an awesome, honest and real review, thank you for suffering through the taste tests so that we don't have to lol
my pleasure! thx for watching this one!
Interesting!!! I have been hunting for vegan fish sauce, too. I don't even like fish or fish sauce but I'm looking to add to my cat's food, lol, she loves fish flavor. I just got/tried to tofuna today and I had a very positive reaction to it! (tastes like a combo of vinegar and soy sauce to me; tangy and citrusy.) Maybe you got a bad batch? I was hesitant to pay so much for the 24 one even tho it had all those bomb reviews. So it's cool to see that you agree with all of them. I will have to purchase that one next. Thanks for sharing this!!!♥
glad you found something that worked for you! thx for watching this one!
Awesome video
Thank you!
One affordable one i love is the pineapple fiah sauce.....tastes the best out of all tried.....yondu taste more like maggi
Ah...I've heard good things
Yep. I used pineapple vegetarian fish sauce. The best. I used it for my Thai food. I love it
wow! i am seeking for this type of advice. The 24 vegan sauce seems good but OMG that price!
it last a long time...totally worth it!
Thanks for this. I've been looking for a vegetarian fish sauce replacement. They almost never have the proper funk that fish sauce should have, and just taste like soy sauce with seaweed or something.
You are so welcome!
Thank you sir
Welcome! What else can we test out?
❤
bro thank the lord
seriously!
That Vietnamese sweet fish sauce looks like the dipping sauce they use for Bun Cha, cucumbers or fresh spring rolls.
you are absolutely right
Hello, thank you so much for video of the best vegan fish sause. Also, i was wondering to show us for the best and better brand real fish sauce to buy? I never bought it before. That's why i decided to find something here for better vegan fish sause 😂😮😊 I am not sure how is going to be with real fish sauce 😂😂😂... I am going to make some kimchi, so that's why I need to buy better one, not fishy one 😂
For Kimchi, most traditional house holds would choose a fish sauce that has loads of funkiness. hahah. I'd grab the 24Vegan for the most funk here.
@@goodlifecookin Thank you so much ☺️Your video helped a lot to make a choice 🤗 I made my first traditional kimchi 😋😋😋😋😁😄😆 Was delicious 😋 😊 😀
After seeing how fish cause and shrimp paste are made. Changing to vegan fish sauce. Less flies, larvae and insects!
and you're saving the ocean 😎
I've been eyeing all the fish sauce you have on your video including the winner "24". Most Vegans on-line recommend it. It is, however, the most expensive as well so that's why I even look at the other options before deciding. But you get what you pay for, so I will be hunting a bottle of the "24" down at the best price. My only complaint is that it has a lot of chemical additives to make that flavoring.
while it can be pricey, i'm finding the bottle to last a while as a few drops are potent and go a long way!
Thank you #savesoil #consciousplanet
You're welcome !
Is the vegan fish towards the last one. Is it made with GMO soybeans? Just went to Amazon. Wonderful. Clean ingredients. Non GMO, no perservatives, additives and color. For the price tho. May make one or find in China town. Fish sauce should be under $6. Thank you for the review!
I wish the price was in that range too
vegan fish sauce. Got it.
word
There’s no such thing.. I respect your vegan lifestyle. There’s a million delicious foods that are vegan but any knock off items are way over processed. Vegan bacon, vegan chicken etc.. is being vegan while eating super processed foods better than eating naturally raised meats?
I would say there are a lot of alternative meats these days that are actually made with wholesome ingredients but there are some that are fillers and junk. Either way, consciously it is still better to not take a life for a plate of food...that's just me tho.
Please UNDERSTAND some ppl are vegan for the animals not necessarily for health and as long as your not eating it what’s the issue???
