- I have NEVER done it, but I want to beat the original TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURLTES game on the NES. I know it's WAY too hard. The farthest I've ever gotten was I think fighting the Technodrome. But maybe this, MAYBE this time with your support I can finally conquer a childhood plague!

From what we briefly saw of inside the Technodrome, this looks like it's going to be flat-out hell, but I'm sure you'll be able to complete it.

I secretly watched this yesterday BUT I'M BACK TO WATCH IT AGAIN
-The first level is a breeze.
-The second level may seem difficult, but you just have to remember where the bombs are, and ration your Turtles health accordingly. It's not as bad as people make it out to be.
-The third level is a bit of a slog, but not too difficult. This is where you should grind for the ninja scrolls. It'll make the rest of the game much easier.
-The fourth stage is kinda easy. The hiccup that can get you, however, is that cheap death trap they have just before the boss. I recommend watching a video in order to memorize the layout of that last part. They also provide you with a room to practice in before attempting said death trap.
-If the fourth stages death trap caught you, there is a room at the beginning of stage 5 that will allow you to grind again for ninja scrolls. It's a bit trickier on this stage, though. The hard part of this stage, though, is finding the Technodrome, since its location goes by rng.
-The final stage is a nightmare. If you don't have a good supply of ninja scrolls, you will have a terrible time. Those jet pack astronauts are by far the most difficult and cheap enemies in the game. The Technodrome itself is also a difficult maze to navigate through. If it's any consolation, though, Shredder is piss easy.
Man, the long narrow hallway with constant spawns of the jetpack astronauts suuuuuuuuuucked.

I agree with most of this except Shredder without scrolls is not easy because he can one shot kill you with his gun.
@@tonberrymasta His gun is easy to dodge. In fact, if you position yourself on the right platform, you can hit him in an infinite loop, and he won't ever fire his gun.
@@rubynall80 Sure, but you have to *know* his gun will 1 hit kill, I expect Jared will take a moment to realize this (if he reaches Shredder).
That Technodrome fight legit might be the cheapest boss fight I've EVER seen, congrats on beating it first try (even if it costed everything immediately afterward...)!
It's crazy seeing ANYTHING AT ALL passed that seaweed bomb dam segment.

Oh boy, now I remember why scrolls are so important. It can be done sans win button, but it is fucking rough. The Dubstepdrome's location is random, there's no way to know where it is unless you guess right, or guess wrong twice.
Congrats on making it to the Technodrome. This is as far as I've ever gotten legitimately. Maybe you'll make it to Shredder. Here's hoping!

I'm feeling the same. Going into the Technodrome blind (or essentially blind, I don't remember if Jared ever said in an earlier episode how far he's gotten in this game) without scrolls is going to be painful.

Eh, you busted the Technodrome, so uh... call it a win, go home and eat pizza? No? We gotta go inside and spank Shredder or whoever after getting past all the flying electrified armored death laser jetpack dudes? Neat! This is officially as far as I've ever managed to get, and I would limp into the Technodrome then get wrecked. Uncharted territory. Onward! To victory! Or crushing defeat!

Oooohhhhh man, you're bringing back so many memories. I had totally forgotten about the underground weird enemies and the flying backpacks and suddenly it's all come flooding back. Amazing.
I've never made it past stage 3. It's nice to finally see more of the game.
I remember making it to the Technodrome a few times as a kid but I don't think I ever mananed to beat it. It's kinda weird to think that back then it was a common thing to own a bunch of games that you were simply unable to beat. hehe
Dark souls was sold as this incredibly difficult series and we were just like: "Jokes on you, I played Ducktales on the NES!"
I thought that I finished this game but after seeing the inside of the technodrome again I'm not sure if I did, I know I definitely got to the technodrome fight though.

You’re in a rough spot for the final level, but you can farm the level for sub weapons. From the start, run all the way right so only the turret is on screen and use Don or Raph to hit its bullets. Might take a while but you can get sub weapons this way
If you do game over, there’s a warehouse in the upper left part of level 5 that’s really easy to load up on boomerangs. Once you grab the boomerangs in the basement you don’t need to leave the building, just go up a screen and fall down as much as you want. Or do what everyone else said and farm scrolls on level 3

Yep. He really would have been better off farming some scrolls before he went to the Technodrome. The final stage is brutal without them.

The Technodrone level always felt ungodly unfair as a kid because of how hard it is.

Killing that foot clan soldier at the start of the Technodrome is a mistake. If you can keep him alive on the screen, you'll keep that enemy set throughout the whole room and get those crappy little flies instead of the jetpack guys.

So unfortunate to get the jetpack guys right at the beginning and with no scrolls to fight them with.
I managed to bounce back and make it though this final section once but you have to play this section perfectly.
It's all about finishing that final yellow hallway! Good luck!

Frankly I've felt like the rest of the game is surmountable, within a reasonable level of skill and dedication.
Inside the technadrome just feels bad and unfair. I was certain Jared could get here, but getting to the shredder is going to take a monumental amount of luck at this point.

Gotta say, grinding pizza wasn't the best gameplay design... but boomerangs adding themselves back to your use counter if you catch them is both easy to code and quite clever.
Yeah, those guys with the jetpacks were the ones I remembered. That part of the game is real rough. I think I remember sacrificing a couple turtles to just push through.
I used to beat this game all the time when I was younger.

Jared saving his ranged weapons until his turtles die is a thing.
I do the same thing. I always want to save my special weapons for when I need them, but then just wind up never using them as a result.
The "armadillo sperm shooting thing" is supposed to be the killer pizza monsters from Season 2 of the cartoon. They were changed so much partially due to copyright, with the color likely being changed due to limited color palette.
I was real curious if Jared was gonna immediately do The Boomerang Trick when he got them, surprised he didn't.

Assuming you always catch, give each turtle 3 and you can always use some.
Why isn't Shredder using those Jetpack guys everywhere? Those guys seem near unstable.^^
Anticipating how long it takes for him to find the technodrome (before I watched) if you didn't know the tunnels have a random chance of having the technodrome

I’m pretty sure that once you use a continue it’s always found in the lower left sewer, which is the hardest

Don't worry, Jared. This is where the game gets tough. The Technodrome's the final level for a reason.
I could be wrong, but didn't you upload this yesterday? I could have sworn I watched it as I was confused to why it was uploaded before part 3.
Apparently the technodrome boss is in a random location and I found it on my first try.
Pro tip: Don't try to kill the Jetpack laser guys try to bypass them.
If you do it just right, you can also position yourself beneath them in a way that your upward attack can hit them, but their laser can't hit you. Then they'll just hover there trying to shoot you to no avail while you beat the crap out of them.
15 minute episode. seems my prediction is coming true lol

How do I always forget that old games where full of bullshit like this level. I never got to this level when I was a kid, kinda glad It wasn't the case because It would have been brutal.
