It's obvious how well that car has been looked after. I don't think I've ever heard a quieter running Essex 3.0, especially on tick over. I do have a soft spot for the old Scimitar though. It's a good looking, practical classic car, with strong performance. Also, being glass fibre, so long as the chassis is solid, you don't have the usual rust problems that tend to plague cars from this era. It's just hard to believe they came from the same company who churned out the Robin!
I had one, wish I had still got it. They do need a lot of maintenance though. No major problems just constant niggly issues. And they use parts from several different manufacturers.

Agreed. The Essex lump is quite an idle lump at tickover. This I guess has had a real good tighten up and electronic points .Great engines on song.
You're right. The Robin is far more stylish.
Love these cars , why don’t they have classic status .😢
Princess Anne had one of these.
Who cares.

July?
Super quiet apart from the whining water pump..
It's nice, but is really just a plastic ford capri?
The only good thing is that they don't rust! 😬
It's a coilover five link rear and coilover double wishbone at the front.
Exactly the same as a leaf spring rear and macpherson front.
Not the best looking car ever & far too expensive new. Hence they didn't sell.
