  • Trainer Ian Wilkes missed a year of training from the middle of the now-5-year-old mare Walkathon's 3-year-old and 4-year-old seasons. But the mare is back now and won her second stakes of the year, taking Churchill Downs' $175,000 Anchorage Overnight Stakes under Brian Hernandez Jr. at 1 1/8 miles. Wilkes says he believes Whitham Thoroughbreds' homebred is better at a mile, and is looking to target the $1.5 million, G3 Ladies Turf at #KYDownsRacing, quite possibly prepping first in the $250K Kentucky Downs Preview Ladies Turf Mile at Ellis Park.
