What are the chances of Brian returning to the way he was in the first few seasons? The voice of reason, lack of egotism, not-so-superficial, and likable.

Brian probably thinks that, if he acknowledges God and Jesus, then he won’t be so smart…even though he isn’t that smart anyway and just fakes it half the time.
Because Brian is Seth's Author Avatar and Seth is basically a militant atheist who is self-aware enough to keep it under wraps for the most part to preserve his career. If he could get away with saying it, without his reputation being so shattered no one would be willing to work with him again, I feel like Seth would totally say something to the effect of: "anyone who is religious or believes in some higher power is intellectually inferior to me, and should not be allowed to breath the same air as me." A bit hyperbolic I realize, but this is how the guy comes off in interviews whenever religion is brought up; he may not be saying it, but I'd swear he is thinking it.
Brian is wrong in saying that everything is wrong with the world because of Christianity.
The reason why the world has problems is actually because of the opposite.
Christianity is what makes the world sane and kind.
It's because people would rather live in sin or do things that go against God than follow him and his word.
Brian is not a good person who doesn't believe in God because he doesn't want to admit he's a shallow excuse of an author and only acts smart but is average or even as dumb as Peter at times

i like that this entire scene you can easily see Brian is just as much a hypocrite as he says Christianity is
he got rid of the religion because it affected his attempts to have sex with someone, and if i'm guessing correctly this was someone he was intentionally posing as a Christian so he can try to get into bed with her.
he didn't do it to avenge those who were persecuted by hypocritical practitioners, he did try to go back and see if he could make things better so the religion doesn't get used in a fanatical way he went back to erase it from ever existing because his ego was wounded and he couldn't get 1 date when he could literally go find someone else (and let's face it we know already the women Brian has been with and why they left him)

Brian is one of the MOST aware person who knows you shouldn’t mess with the timeline.
They have done this before with Brian and Stewie where they used Stewie time machine and they went to another universe where Christianity didn't exist and everything was more advanced because the dark ages didn't happen. I don't like Christianity either but Seth is beating a dead horse because we all know that he hates religion which i do agree with but we all know that he's an atheist.
Always when people, movies and TV shows are negative about religion its always about christianity and never about Islam or the other religions.
Christianity did bad things in the past but Islam still does bad things all the time today but nobody seems to wanna be negative about Islam.

You sure that’s a good idea Brian I mean, I’m not gonna lie. Lotta people have used Christianity to get their own nefarious purposes. What religion has not, but if you do that, they could have a bigger impact than you think and not necessarily the positive kind.

Brian has a point about religion being hypocritical, but Stewie also has a point that it’s not all bad.(Besides, it’s mostly the fault of ignorant, small minded people who have the absolute gall to use religion to try and justify their repulsive behavior.)
My Christian family and I try to be more open-minded. Though I do have some relatives who Christians but they’re not very open-minded or accepting. Even my maternal grandmother has no problem with LGBTQ people (probably because she was friends with these two gay guys that she used to go clubbing with before she had my mom).

Brian speaks nothing but the truth here! But at least he was stopping Christianity from existing by convincing Jesus not to create the religion in the first place, Because Brian could've just as easily done it by making sure Jesus was never born.
Though doing that would've done more than just prevented the existence of Christianity, It would've also probably prevented certain holidays like Christmas from existing because you know it was a holiday to celebrate Jesus's birth.
Anyway, The point of all my rambling is that as the episode shows getting rid of religion all together changed things for both better and worse.
If they made an episode like this but made it about Islam instead of christianity then the creators of Family Guy would probably need to fear for their lifes.
