DOMINION PIE ok, so which touge did they do it in? In Gunma and Kanagawa, it's a dying trait; there were 30 arrests in 2009 in Otometouge, Akagi, and Haruna. As for Akagi they even repaved the roads to make it impossible.

I love how it's "illegal" but yet these roads are PERFECTLY set up and engineered for this kind of racing. Unless it's some sort of "off limits" testing track for car companies like a Japanese version of Nurbergring, but I don't understand the language

To be fair, how these Hondas are being used and driven here is exactly what they were built for. Revvy engines with go-kart like handling, perfect for Japanese mountain roads and race tracks. Hondas are just low cost, honest motors that are a lot of fun to drive in the right environment (such as this). It's because people in America buy Civics to just race people from the lights with and it makes them look crap.

the difference between American street races is that this style of street racing actually requires you to be an exceptionally talented driver to ultimately win rather than the American style of racing driving in a straight line

At night they gathered on deserted mountain roads and ran until morning.
Each mountain pass had its own rules, some of which were for uphills and others for downhills.
It is easy to make a difference in power on uphills, but it is easy to make a difference in technique on downhills.

I agree, FR will always be the best platform for all kinds of racing, but I just felt it a bit unfair to completely write off all Hondas like that. They may not be the best, but they certainly aren't bad.

Man...my uncle got me into driving like that back in 98. Thought me almost everything I need to know. Been applying and enhancing those skills on my own for the last 13 or 14 years. I've stopped doing those kind of dangerous races 5, almost 6 years ago after having a kid. I remember dumb fuck once said to me back in 99 before I've graduated from HS, "Someone's been playing too much Gran Turismo", no foo, I was taught how to drive like that.

I just wanted to pitch in. When you have a Type R it feels racey and it gives you such good feedback while trashing it around nice roads or at trackday but it is all about the midspeed and highspeed corners, just like you find on the Nurburgring, mostly mid to high speed.
About the fast part... It leaves most new hot hatchbacks behind or keeps up AND remember that the Type R cars in general are 10 to 15 years older. So not a lot of progress in development. Thumbs up to Honda for that!

i live in quebec and here the is a hill called mount rigaud, my grandpa and my dad both did street racing up their, there are a bunch of street racers in my town that race there and i really want to when i get my license. im only 14 now and stuck with a moped but i have freinds that race and i always sit and watch. ive been riding shot gun in street races since 9 years old, i recently got a 1983 volkswagen rabbit from a junkyard and im putting camshafts, bigger pistons and a turbo on a 2.3L 4 cylinder motor, even tho most of the race cars i see are hondas, acura and nissan. anyway this race is alot like here in canada.

Where do you get Skyline from? The two on-board cars are a Civic and an AE86.
Well the JZ motors including the 1jz are monsters and probably the best. But the RB and some Honda engines have very good potential as well.
