    He never mentioned the Toyota Prius is the most reliable car on the planet. We own 2 Prius v Wagons and love them. Much easier to see out of and love the more normal hatch compared with regular Prius. Almost as much cargo area as the CRV we sold after owning the Prius v. Our yearly average gas mileage 43 MPG. With a 2010 regular Prius Hatchback, we averaged 55 MPG yearly here in Maine.

    Great review! After watching it though, I thought of 3 things. 1. That slot on the left is for a stack of business cards. In Japan, a business card is your lifeline. 2. For the rear seats, in addition to being able to recline, they also slide forwards and backwards independently, creating even more legroom in the rear! 3. That annoying reverse gear beep beep beep can be modified by a dealer. They can program it to just beep once when put in reverse....it'll save your sanity. I have the 2013 V and LOVE it!

      1. Not for business cards. The former Japanese introduction with business cards or "meishi koukan " has very specific rules and I'm not sure one would give his business card one hand from inside his car :). Highway payment system "ETC" works with a card in Japan and this area usually welcomes a card slot. I guess you can have one mounted in the US for an E-Pass or a similar system I guess. Cheers from France.

    MIke,
    Thanks so much for the very detailed overview of the 2015 Prius V. It's now October, 2019 for me and I'm doing research before buying a used Prius V. It's very possible I'll buy a used 2015 since a used one is so much cheaper. The only thing I'm not sure of yet is what trim level I'm going to buy. Whichever one I decide to buy, I will definitely get it inspected by a hybrid garage (or Toyota dealership) to make sure it's OK.

    Position "B" does not charge you battery! When you regularly brake, you brake with your generator and you recuperate your power back. When you use B you use your gasoline engine to brake. You use this position when coasting from hill and your battery is full.

    This is an excellent review.... very detail-oriented... you showed close-ups of almost every feature/control and demonstrated many of them... and you described things to the best of your knowledge... and you didn't have any distracting music... I was able to still-frame and see things... very nice....
    This will enhance the "familiarity factor" when someone decides to go for a test-drive... Thanks for your contribution. Subscribed and liked!

    @ 12:35 I believe that small slot in the dash there is actually a small remnant port usually for dealer installed ETC units here in Japan. ETC cards are those things that let you pass quickly through toll booths here and some cars can come installed with them standard

      Lillian Luscher We have very favorable first impression. We had a Prius hatchback previously, but I really did not like the visual obstructions and the weird split back window. The V has much better lines of sight.

    • @iibw
      @iibw 9 лет назад +3

      Gary D Actually, that slot is for name/business cards, not credit cards. Name cards are very important in Japan, it's always given to everyone you meet. I wouldn't recommend putting credit cards there, it'll get stolen!

    Thanks. That was very helpful! Even the harsh correction about the 'B' on the shifter in the comments from a viewer. Thinking of getting one. On the Chevy Volt it has a lever on the steering wheel that actually does aid in regenerative braking. So an easy conclusion, albeit wrong this time. I thought the same thing as you!

During dark time of the day, if you switch on the driving lights or just switch it in auto mode, the information didplay is getting dark and no any info on it. Maybe somebody has /had the same issue. Share the solution. Thank you.

      As old as this comment is - the spare tire (a compact one) is under the first level "basement" under the rear floor. The storage trays pull out, revealing the tire well.
