One of my favorite pieces. I play it slow and get hit with an over running of emotions, especially on the third section. I also love your improvising that you added to make it unique. Thanks for that.
Wow this was great. You are so accomplished in your playing. I can tell you are clearly a skilled player in Ragtime as you play the left hand chords very short jumping off of each chord to bring out the essence as the left hand is the foundation and the skill in playing to bring out the best playing in Ragtime. This was just so brilliant. I also recorded this myself.
@@ChristinaPepper Yes I can see you've been playing for a long time in the way you play. I have also been playing for many years especially Ragtime and I enjoy playing classical too. I've played all of the Joplin Rags and recorded a few just on spare of the moment that hadn't been practiced for a while. It's great music.
Nice performance! Your slight improvising on the repeats is great! Vincent Johnson does a lot of awesome renditions of rags, I recommend taking a close look at his style, he uses a lot of little triplets scattered throughout the piece, I highly recommend doing that, it's not an overwhelming hard thing to do and it adds a sweet touch to any rag :D Nice to see the channel survived the hack, keep up the good work as always!
@@ChristinaPepper Quite unlike a lot of other modern ragtime pianists who embellish the piece only to make a big show about it :( I wish people would do more of the supporting embellishments and not try to reinvent the wheel while performing...
A Time Machine performance. Not sure these are the right terms; but the cadence and tempo seem just as Joplin intended. At times, pieces I hear are played too fast. This was Lovely. Maybe you’re familiar with them…an orchestra vs a soloist, but the Paragon Ragtime Orchestra is truly a treasure, and they maintain a wealth of conserved and found music. Check them out. paragonragtime.com

Joplin shines in your hands as if he was born again.
You have very much of a ragtime jenesaisquoi that some "classic" players miss! Glad to see your taking liberties
Your channel is pure gold.
Magnificent!
Very well played! Thank-you. 🙂👍
Absolutely excellent playing
Absolutely beautiful ❤️!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you! Yes, I'm a big fan of Vincent's playing; his embellishments are subtle and delicate and always serve to enhance the piece.
