Many thanks for the educational aspect here. That explains why you tend to only find Fungai on dead trees as well as in about the forest floor! I just asked ChatGPT for the extended version of this eco process.
Hi Y Frân, Thanks for the comment. I need a little magic in some of those images! We were in the Brocéliande forest last year in Brittany - would be great at this time of year for woodland photography. There was a special atmosphere there and I'm aware there are the associations with Guinevere and Merlin in this landscape. Jimmy
Hi Martin, Thanks for watching. Glad you enjoyed - I’ve subscribed to your channel. Very enjoyable and relaxing videos. I had a jumping spider in the garden this summer. Ran up to get the camera and it was gone. My luck - the Kit Kat photographer. Jimmy

It’s way out there - the lichen - made a bit of a mess of the focus stack but I’ll have to keep an eye out for something similar in future. Thanks so much for the comment Jimmy
Hi Noel, Actually there were hardly any mushrooms on the day out. Now’s a better time but I won’t get a chance to go back out until later in October . And then it will be time for woodland photography! The year moves too fast Jimmy
Wow... this is the first video I have watched of yours... I found it fascinating and truly entertaining! Here in Australia I have shot the Micena Sp shrooms. They do appear to like the very moist fallen trees, but don't appear unless said tree has a thick covering of green moss, presumably to retain moisture. These little shrooms wilt within a day or so usually, from my experience.
It hasn’t been a good year for Fungi here in Ireland. Hopefully end of autumn it will improve and hopefully I’ll get a chance to get out again. Great to hear from a fellow fungi photographer - that’s a tongue twister! Really appreciate you taking time to watch and comment Jimmy
A most relaxing video. I've just come across you now. I don't do macro but hope to get up to Wicklow in the next few weeks to do my usual 'crap' scapes 🤣 Great shots by the way, you have more patience than I and very knowledgeable 📷👍
Thanks Eltin, The camera is just a reason to get out to places like Glendalough. Never get tired of it - well except in the summer when it’s full to the brim. Best in autumn/winter. Jimmy
Hi Alan, Thanks for subscribing. I hope to get out again to do some more macro before the winter sets in. Finding the time is the real challenge. Hope you get some good images with the 90mm lens. Jimmy
Love your storytelling and emotional way of presenting the shots. Many thanks, Jimmy!

Thanks so much it’s mind boggling the complexity of life in the fungal world - the book I mentioned at the end is well worth delving into Jimmy
Love the lichen shots. Thanks for your vlog
Thanks Nigel, Those lichens are common enough - I’ll have to keep an eye out to try again where it’s a little easier to stand Jimmy
Absolutely fab Jimmy, really enjoyed that!
