Behind the scenes iphone footage of The Commander In Chief's own version of Toccata & Fugue, performed live on October 30th and 31st 2016, (+ a little surprise at the end). This was part of a secret project, in cooperation with a major record label, where The CIC made her very own versions of classical masterpieces. The arrangements were made by The CIC, in cooperation with producer John Haywood.
Shortly after these two performances she fell ill, when a vicious parasite infection wrecked havoc on her body for weeks. It would take her 16 months to recover, before she could get back to playing guitar again.
In March 2018 she announced that she was back in business, recording a double album with her own original music. For more about that project, including a sneak peak of the music, join her on:

These videos were filmed by The CIC's manager/mom. They were meant for practice purpose and were never meant to be released to the public. However, The Chief wants to share this with her fans, so they can see for themselves what she spent months working on, before her illness. She also worked on another classical masterpiece, and she might release videos of that later.

Respectfully Commander.
Don't let them tell you what to do. Your playing is just awesome, and you don't need more "stage presence" than being the Commander in Chief.
I'm grateful for watching you play this. It is 2018, you can produce your own record if you really want.
I'm working on my 3rd album now ;) Thanks!
Commander that I mean THAT was absolutely sick. Very few people man or woman can get a feel for the guitar like you can. The notes, tone, verb the cleaning ness are amazing. I love the sound that you have set up. Takes me back to the 60's. It's a sound of yesterday and maybe more young guitarist should hear it. I've said it before it Commander in Chief. Don't stop at lease anytime soon.
Thank you so much for your support! :)
Well I'm not so sure about Johann Sebastian Bach living in 60's. But I agree with the rest. The amount of practice and patience. Such a commitment. Totally worth it.
@@thecommanderinchief1 i just discovered you today ..I'm a accomplished guitar player. But you are absolutely amazing.just wow....
What a breath taking version of this piece ! Artistry . J.S.Bach would be so proud honored......even excellent work !
I've never ever seen anyone play any song by Bach where they looked like they are having fun, well until now. I can't tell how enjoyable that was to watch. Quintuple awesome 😍
Awesome! I love it when classical pieces are rendered with modern technology and style.
You are already a guitar goddess, record label or not!
This just goes to prove that electric guitar is a truly universal instrument; it doesn’t matter what genre you play it can be used by the right person! And my word you have proved beyond any shadow of a doubt that Classical music is no obstacle for a guitarist who enjoys classical music!
That's why I love the electric guitar, it can sound sweet, relaxing, powerful, aggressive and so on. This masterpiece was played incredibly well. We can hear every single note. Congrats. You are a genius.
You are so great. I didn't know about your illness, indeed it was strange that there were no news from you during those years. I am very sorry for that but also happy to know that you have fully recovered. Best wishes!
Excellent performance. Thank you!
excellent really captured the style and power of the original very listenable. congrats.
imagine the guy who played wonderwall to you, trying to impress you, seeing this now xD
this is great!
hahaha!
Great style, performance and persona, you really have something. Love it and wish you well.
Awesome rendition! Not only Bach would be proud but this piece also does justice to the guitar you hold. You see several guitarists handling 7/8 stringers but very few truly take them through their paces in a meaningful manner, yours is a rare exception. Ibanez should be very proud of you too. Very well done.
wat-yr stage presence??-therye crazy-yr extraordinarily exceptional-wat an outfit-brilliant-u r the best
Perfect work! Taking the electric guitar to high levels.Good for you!!!
You are a great guitar player. Best wishes!!!

Incredible. And very artistic. Applause!
One of my favorite Bach pieces. While I usually listen to it being played on a pipe organ, I absolutely love your guitar version (s)! To me, your tone is awesome & it sounds superb. Thanks for that & you definitely "picked" up a new subscriber😍

Awesome playing.. I loved it.
Just superb,,, fantastic job,,, awesome job ,, the re are no words to describe this!!,, please play this piece with some distortion 👍😎
Like a boss!!! love it.
Superb! The ONLY thing more awesome than the performance is knowing that, except for the parts she improvised, Bach had to write down each one of those notes. Must have taken forever. . . .
wow! I love how you play those classical pieces on your seven-string... :)
on the seven string at the beginning it's great sound like a piano, overall great stuff, RESPECT
you're a fucking good player, playing this monument without distortion, cool
it take's month years to play toccata and fugue well and this is the case

Versatility. Yes.

Magic of hands and soul! It's great when a beautiful girl plays beautiful music! 🥀🌸🏵️
Великолепно ! Волшебница :)
The Commander in chief : You are beautiful angel of the six strings with a great voice!!!
You are amazing! Keep rocking!!!
what an inspiration to technique training. Fantastic performance.
Amazing showcasing JS Bach's music on electric guitar..
That was a fascinatingly clean take at Toccata and Fugue. Also showmanship that reminds me of Roy Clark.
love this !
Wow
Excellent
You've always stayed true to yourself, playing clean and with no fancy gimmicks (effects)
I like her style..of playing..superb
You have such a distinct style! A wonderful way to start my day. Best wishes!
Sounds Great !! Glad you are back !
Brave to do it with a pure, clean tone. Great picking and timing. A small amount of overdrive could have made the tone stronger, but I am sure you thought of that!
Thanks! \m/
Awesome costume!
Glad you're feeling better, I'm sure you'll be back at full POWER soon! \m/
HERMOSO, BEAUTIFULL!
Thank you for this moment, Commander. One of my favorite pieces. I hear this being played THIS WAY,
way, way, way, way, way, way, way, back in the days of 'old!
Yet somehow you connect it to the now, creating a mystical blend, of the past
and the present, from which I hear the future.
(1685-2018 and beyond)
Wonderful Artistry, CIC.
Sorry to hear about the bug. On the bright side, now you know what people went through back in Bach's day.
That "long dark teatime of the soul" must of been a test. Hope all is well with you now.
I wish you forever success in your musical career.
Be Well, be You,
and forever aim True.
Play on..... Commander.
Thanks a lot!
All Hail, and mighty cheers to you, thecommanderinchief1.
You are welcome,
I speak truth.
This video just popped up on RUclips, I hadn't heard of you before.
I subscribed and went to your channel and....wow!
I am right. You are the future of fusion.
If I may be so bold, your sounds vibrate the musical atoms, creating a new form of art. I know others have played like this, yet You have that essence, the quality that can't be taught.
It is the spark of God.
Your music is like a tapestry, the way you weave traditional, classical thoughts together with modern progressive ideas, creates a musical mosaic of wonder.
Saw the video where you interview your Mom.
What a remarkable woman. I see where you got your sense and sensibility from.
Like any new art form it takes a while for others to hear the light.
You have to remember you are the Commander in Chief. Some may not understand where you are leading us musically, being the Leader it can be a lonely experience.
You are exploring new territory. Remember the old sailing maps that say, for places no one has gone before,
"Here be monsters".
People are hesitant, even scared, of going to new places musically in their hearts and minds.
Thanks for coming back from your musical adventures and showing us it's all good, the unknown is now known.
This is what great Leadership is all about.
Your artistic Odyssey may seem daunting so remember those who
led people out of the wilderness of ignorance.
Your musical light may be blinding at first but people will adapt to a new way of seeing your musical playing in a whole new light.
Shine on, you're not crazy, you're a Diamond.
Cannot stop watching this! So inspiring !
I hope one day I get to play this amazing piece of art as sharp and as natural as you do! At least that's the plan XD
Amazing passion you've put in your work, and it shows big time! \m/
Thank you so much!
so beatiful... great job =)
superb playing
Thanks!
Strength to strength ...
That was incredible.
I actually liked it before the beat came and could listen to you all day just play the piece on its own. But still.. Amazing..
Can't stop watching that left hand! Must be scary being one of the world's best guitar players huh?
Thank you very much for saying that. It's scary being a guitarist if you get injured and you don't know how long it will last, or if you'll need surgery, or if you'll never be able to play again, etc; It can also be pretty scary to play unusual material if you are a perfectionist and you are well aware of the difficulty level, the same can be said of expectations, which I've had to deal with since I was in my late teens, 1st in heavy metal and then in classical. There is a lot of work that goes into what I do & there will always be those who don't understand that!
Have to stop making it look so easy !
Thrilled with reply by the way!
Wish you best of health.
Don't take any c#@p from record companies either!
You can't play at 200 bpm and freakin dance at the same time !
Leonard Cohen did ok!
C.i.C is back whoop-whoop !
Your bass notes broke my speakers and I tried the guitar lunge stance you did and tore my pants. No speakers and holy pants now, but worth it. Great job.
love all
Can't put my finger on it, but there is something highly explosive in her style which was greatly present in the rock covers on "I Am". I hope this spirit will continue and grow. I became a fan with the youtube video "Zigeunerweisen", and I was blown away by the guitar technique. That combination is just screaming for a new chapter of some rock music.
Супер!!! Какая умничка!!!!
oooh!!!!!!Love this interpretation
Fantastica
I always admire your play. Praises for the clean and accurate performance. Can I buy TAB sheet music?
wow!
🌹
Beautiful......❤️
Thank you!
Wow! That was impressive. Really liked it.
Very good
Excellent guitaring anyway ☺️
It's hard to understand in our modern times but when Bach wrote pieces like this he was a real revolutionary. He was one of the first composers to use "tempered tuning." That's a method of tuning where instruments sound in tune is all keys. That seems ancient to us now but in his time it was a totally new concept. He also embraced the newest technology available at the time. Imagine what he would do with today's technology.
This is why it’s important to read about the old composers! Even the orchestra was revolutionary at a point! 👍
