One thing I've found that helps for me with memorization is to try to practice it with out any music and try to learn it by ear. This will take a lot longer this way but I find it imprints it in my memory as opposed to practicing sheet music and later forgetting it. Hope this helps.
Caio Bandeira - This to me is the greatest song ever written. Will ALWAYS be my favorite song. God Only Knows where I would be without Brian Wilson’s music and Tony Asher’s lyrics.
I may not always love you But long as there are stars above you You never need to doubt it I'll make you so sure about it God only knows what I'd be without you If you should ever leave me Though life would still go on, believe me The world could show nothing to me So what good would livin' do me God only knows what I'd be without you God only knows what I'd be without you If you should ever leave me Though life would still go on, believe me The world could show nothing to me So what good would livin' do me God only knows what I'd be without you God only knows what I'd be without you
Imagine if they were played in the correct inversions like they were intended, the economical, root position form completely miss the depiction of distraught insatiability.
Trying to learn this tune and you have nailed this to the mast for me Searched youtube for versions but this is the best one to learn from and enjoy Excellent performance Thanks for doing this, I will get it one day, brilliant playing pal
still singing along in 2019..almost 2020!!! best song ever...and Masterfully played..stunning chord progressions..thank you Ryan...more like these please!
Sweet performance! Nice you covered the flute frills. You really did this arrangement justice, cover the parts we all needed to hear! 5 years later, and you’ve brought a smile to ma face. Cheers!
Definitely sang along, even before I read these comments...I agree, this is also one of my favourite Brian Wilson compositions and yes, he is a genius!
John Lennon said it was the best pop song ever written. No one has disputed this since. And he wrote Pet Sounds inspired by Rubber Soul! Not quite a “competition”, but somewhat. Nothing else to add.
Absolutely marvellous ! You do it so well its unbelievable! I will try to do it but it will probably take a year or so! These are not the easiest chord to play. Love it and Thank You for the lesson!
Great Cover Man. Had to give a thumbs up. Just one question where did you get the chords and bass line from? Can you please post the source that'd be great thanks man.
Great job Ryan, everything sounds right...but I'm having a bit of difficulty with the instrumental interlude, it sounds just a bit off? Maybe not , oh well maybe it's just me...thanks Bravo!!
At the time the arrangement I learned this from was just chords and it didn’t have the melody notes. I also wasn’t as adept at figuring out the melody notes by ear as I am today so I just stuck with the chords where you can still sing along. The Beatles book I have includes all the vocal notes as well.
Ryan692: Thanks for your quick response! That’s what I suspected. I play by ear but certainly not like you. You are truly gifted! I enjoy listening and watching so much.
Not bad. A few mistakes here and there but the Bass line at 1:14 is wrong. I don't know why you broke tempo at the Bridge. Perhaps you need to work on it some more so you know it better.
@@Vienellium No, in the second bar of the transition to Bridge she plays G in the Bass but it's actually a G over A in the Bass. At the end of each phrase the Bass does not go up to A but it comes down to F#. Listen to the original..
Brian Wilson said he wrote this in 45 minutes. Wow, I've spent hours trying to memorize this on piano, and can't.

@@briancastleman7894I'm gonna try this. I mean with piano. I kind of do it this way with guitar already.
and on the back of a fag packet too!!
This song has the best chord sequence in the history of Earth as a planet

No! it's beautiful. But listen to any Antonio Carlos Jobim song. You will love!
Yeah I agree with you, this chrod progression is completly hard to understanding and beautiful in the same time
It's a shame he didn't play them correctly, the inversions on the record sound so much more intriguing and beautiful.
agreed
Anyone else started singing along?
I think I ruptured a vocal cord trying to sing in key !:(
PrinceV1R ' I may not always love you '....yep you're right:)
iluvmusic62 you mean you 'raptured' your vocal cord... eh?
you got to
Guilty.
Heartbreaking, but redemptive at the same time.
This song with just the piano brings a tear to my eye
same here!
I may not always love you
But long as there are stars above you
You never need to doubt it
I'll make you so sure about it
God only knows what I'd be without you
If you should ever leave me
Though life would still go on, believe me

Thank you! I wish there were more covers that played accompaniment instead of the vocal melody. Easier to learn by ear!
Best chord arrangement ive heard of a special song Ryan. This is so much better than the sheet music Ive seen. Surely you must publish this score
Definitely sang along, even before I read these comments...I agree, this is also one of my favourite Brian Wilson compositions and yes, he is a genius!

Bellissimo... Complimenti ❤
Beautiful!!!!🎶😍❤
Wonderfully played.

Great Cover Man. Had to give a thumbs up. Just one question where did you get the chords and bass line from? Can you please post the source that'd be great thanks man.
Abdullah Murad I found this. It's very close to what I've played here. Have fun!: ruclips.net/video/iIJf1dNw0Fc/видео.html

“Brilliant”
thank you so much. Do you have sheets?
Why the bridge so fast?!
Bravo bravo indeed
11 haters.... Like Brian would do.... I give this a 2 thumbs up.

Very nice!!!!!
Great!
what’s the name of this type of piano? (or keyboard possibly)
How can we get sheet music in this version?
Compliments!
Brilliant my friend!
Amazing tutorial
Great Lesson!!! :)
Great job Ryan, everything sounds right...but I'm having a bit of difficulty with the instrumental interlude, it sounds just a bit off? Maybe not , oh well maybe it's just me...thanks Bravo!!
yes, just a smoother connection to the interlude is needed; otherwise sounds beautiful.
You are excellent. Did you ever think about playing the piano on John Lennon's ''Godnight Vienna''?
Does anyone know of a "cover" on youtube that's WITH the actual melody???
Here you go: ruclips.net/video/XLntnWLr-XE/видео.html
Wow
Beautiful
excellent-thank you :)
hi do you have the sheet music for this?
Very nice, but why aren't you playing the melody line, like you do on all the Beatles songs?
At the time the arrangement I learned this from was just chords and it didn’t have the melody notes. I also wasn’t as adept at figuring out the melody notes by ear as I am today so I just stuck with the chords where you can still sing along. because he doesnt have three hands
Great performance! May I ask, how many pages long is that Pet Sounds book you have there? Thanks!
coolsquirrels 76 I believe.
Ryan692 Do you know where you bought it from? The version I have is like 20 pages shorter, and I'm trying to get the 76 page copy.
Also, some of the songs in my book seem abridged, or in the wrong key unfortunatley
Sheet music plsss
give us a score dam how can I learn
What is the brand/model of this piano?
Don Thatcher Yamaha YDP-181.
Ryan692 - thank you Ryan! This is my favorite song of all time and the sound from that piano along with you playing got to me.
Middle section is a bit off
Beatiful! I love this chords progression 😍 I've just published my version of it, take a look if you like😊
Should advise that the melody/singer is missing!
Not bad.
A few mistakes here and there but the Bass line at 1:14 is wrong.
I don't know why you broke tempo at the Bridge. Perhaps you need to work on it some more so you know it better.
1:14 is pretty right. Listen to the original.

It is a little off but the rest of the cover is spot on.
Why??
Lol..what the hell happened at 1:12-1:20??
Can i make a vocal cover using your piano???
Absolutely!
Where's the melody gone ? .. doesn't sound like the Beach Boys hit.
WHERE's the melody?
In your heart
Hard to play the melody without the background accompaniment.
This is only the accompaniment, the melody is to be sung
You aren't familiar with Brian Wilson. lol
