Greetings from one of your your Colonial cousins from the Land down under. I am a hack photographer and know enough to be dangerous, but trying to learn. Love your cow picture with your use of the sun. Those horns could bring on a squeaky voice . We get a lot of harsh sunshine in Adelaide and I know how difficult it is except at both ends of a day. The sun brings out the wonderful colors of greens and purples in your pics. I wait eagerly for your next installment. Well done.
G’day Ian. It’s a good point. The light and conditions in more ‘extreme’ areas would require far more complaining from me to get me through. I confess, Australia has not drawn me for photography whereas Hobbiton Across the Water (NZ) has. SHOULD I be considering Oz, or am I right to head for the land of Second Breakfasts and Taters?
@@EddieSkelson Hi Eddie.....I have only had great comments about New Zealand. I suspect it would be a great choice from a photographers point of view. Tasmania apparently is more like England also. Australia can be a harsh country. The temperature today at the end of our winter is similar to yours coming out of your summer. I am learning, thanks to your vlogs, to always try and look for good compositions. Learning learning always learning. Thanks again.
I love to hear about the misery of your photographic journey ... It keeps me smiling ... love your humor Ed ... keep doing the videos, rants, reviews, beautiful photos and all ... Maybe talk a bit about some tolkien, adams or Prattchett ... add to your humor ...
Apparently from what I understand, "Budby South Forest" near Sherwood Forest has some decent Heather already in bloom, although it is in Nottinghamshire and not The Peak District. As for Autumn - at the moment it is certainly "Hybrid Autumn" at the moment :)
That’s Craig Yates neck of the woods (literally) and I think he’s recently been there. I ask him. Too late for me now as I’ve got other fish to fry but I’ve noted it for next year. Cheers!
Hi Eddie I was hoping to get the Highland Cattle in amongst the heather this year but they weren't there when I visited. Apparently they only get up there on the edge in the morning before moving down to the Silver Birch wood you walked past. You got some gorgeous light with them. I'll have to try again next year. I haven't visited Ramshaw this year to be honest when I've been during the heather season there are way too many midges up there 😊 You forgot to mention the other fact about Ramshaw Rocks....Myra Hindley and Ian Brady (moors murderers) visited and took photos on their 'dates' spent there 😮
I didn’t know that about the Moors maniacs! Unsurprising though, the rocks have the same features as Saddleworth. Regarding the Cows, it’s pot luck. I’ve been that way many times and not seen them anywhere and of course to get good light as well… Still, you have to be there, that’s one of the rules. My focus over the next couple of months will be the transition from Summer to autumn and I’ve got a few trips further away from the Peak planned. Whether they come off or not is another matter.
Great vlog Eddie , nice dog had two border collies a few years ago would have another in a heartbeat but getting on to 70 now wouldn't me fair to the dog. My last one lived to 18.
The shots of Ramshaw rocks are great. Looking forward to magnetic filter review - will not be switching off!! Thanks for the video.
Awesome, thank you!

Cheers Paul, I’ll keep it to the photography here but perhaps in my other plans. :)

Ah, got to love an Eddie Skelson rant. I do agree though, heaven forbid someone trying make some money back.
