Got the tweaker a few months ago and let me tell ya: This thing isn't to be taken lightly. You get so many options soundwise with its toogle switches, it's amazing. It's a great pedal platform and if you like to play a lot of different music it's a really good choice. Don't get fooled by some forums on the web saying bad stuff about their reliability. Egnater had a problem with some materials they got from a manufacturer, but since they got information about the problems, they changed their source and put on a tight end control. One "bad" thing is, that it doesn't has as many "modern" gadget stuff as other amps. If you need a power soak, or an intern DI-Box you gotta look elsewhere.

    Egnater Tweaker all day!
I bought the Egnater Tweaker 15W Head back when they first came out in 2010. & over the last 9 years, the Egnater Tweaker has proven to be the most versatile, the most reliable, & the best sounding piece of gear I own. It has never let me down. Not once. In fact, I am still impressed every time I plug into my Egnater Tweaker. The tone options are nearly infinite. It has more than enough volume. It has more headroom than most 15W tube amps. It handles pedals very well. It's lightweight. It looks awesome. It's well constructed. & it's incredibly affordable. I highly recommend the Egnater Tweaker 15W Head to anyone looking for an affordable amp that will give you great tone & volume. The Egnater Tweaker is an incredibly solid amp that pulls well above it's weight & class.
I play my Egnater Tweaker through multiple cabs. A 1x12, a 2x10, & a 1x10. Alone or a combination of 2 of those cabs, depending on where I am playing.
FYI - I have worked in a small guitar shop for the last 4 years, & tried many many amps. I have also been a gigging musician for the last 14 years.

hats off for the effort, great job. on the other hand, since orange cab is used, all orange amps sounded best to me in terms of dynamics and the fullness of all frequencies especially hi ends were brilliant to my taste. i believe in the dominancy of speakers shaping the general sound, more than the amps. therefore, i would also like to hear the same kind of test with each brand's their own cabs intended to be used for their own vision of sound. we know evh is harsh and marshall will be mid accentuated etc. but one type of speaker wouldn't do justice to non orange amps to spread their frequency spectrum as their makers would like to impose.

I think the reason that the BB sounded NSG was the speaker/ ohm combo.IMO , despite being a Chinese sub par design, the 007 captures the early Fender/ Marshall sound well. After experimenting extensively with different speakers, I can attest the impact on the Eggnator as well; also, when you compare apples to oranges, it's easy to miss some critical elements.Pickups are much the same.
The Orange 30 has a critical power advantage, which is what you're hearing.

I like the TH30 the best but I’m jaded being I own one. Did a lot of testing of amps before I purchased it. Beauty of it is it’s a 2 channel that can be run at 30, 15 or 7.5 watts. During this test it was running at 30 watts with the volume always around 2. This amp sounds best cranked . Especially the clean. Turn the clean channel up to about 2 OClock and it starts breaking up nice. Gotta run the th 30 volume cranked regardless of watt wattage you use and you’ll get the best tones out of it. Again, I’m jaded. I play a Les Paul and an SG straight without any effects. Amp has an effects loop too. Great video.

When I was buying my valve amp years back, I shopped around all of my local music stores. I tried every amp within my budget. Most of them lacked either a good clean tone or a good dirty tone. None had both... until I tried the TH30. I tried the dirty channel and I was very pleased with how much gain it had to offer. But then I switched to the clean channel.... the clean channel sold me. It was soo sparkly and rich (compared to previous amps I had tested). I knew that a good clean was more important for me, the good dirty channel was a lovely bonus. Also variable power selections allowed for a more sensible bedroom volume (still really loud).
The TH30 is simple to use. It does not have 100 knobs and switched. You simply plug in and enjoy without over complicating things for yourself. Also it has a great effects loop and this is great for a pedal board 👌👌

For modern gain, my preference is the Orange Dark Terror. For clean tone, I prefer the Egnator Tweaker 15 (surprisingly, better than Fender.).

the Marshall JVM-1 and the Orange TH30 were my favorites. I was really shocked and disappointed in the fender. the rest were very good and held up nicely. good video

I'm gonna go in no particular order
    Th30
    EVH
    Tweaker
    Dark
They all sound great and have that midrange thing that good amps have while still being supported with the low end

Now this is how to do an amp comparison! I liked the Egnater the best followed by the Orange TH30. Those two were far above the rest.

What a great demo. I’m surprised how much I liked the Tweaker. Never been on my radar after the slew of reviews I saw about how unreliable they were. Not going to replace my OR15, but might be a nice compliment.

    • @ethanpelagalli
      @ethanpelagalli 5 лет назад

trahnettilhcs it had to do with their transformers. I don’t remember the specifics but the tweaker line used transformers from a third party...said party switched some of the internals of their transformers which caused higher failure rates (egnater didn’t know this). The new transformers say ELITE on them, that’s how you know you’re getting one of the reliable ones. It’s been a while since I did the research so I don’t remember the specifics. I own the tweaker, fun amp

I've had both the Egnater and TH30 and both are pretty awesome. However, I don't think it was fare to put the TH30 since it has a lot more power to it. Even if you use half the wattage it will still respond different compared to the others, which is why it has more bass and the distortion is a lot cleaner. Taking the TH30 out, my favourite is the Egnater, although it could still use a bit more distortion ;)

I'm generally a Marshall fan, I actually liked it "the least" I think the TH30 sounds the best, close second on every other amp but the Marshall I'd rank 3'rd

Marshall and Fender disappointed me :/

Pretty much agree entirely. Want that TH30 but can't justify the price. DT it is. Really not loosing too much for about half the price.

Jonny Miller I love both of them (DT and TH30), but in a live setting the prize difference becomes apparent. The additional headroom from the TH30 makes the amps feel like night and day

    I just bought a Marshall DSL1CR.
    It is actually great.
It's funny I ordered it from zzounds so I could play in my apartment.
    The funny?
My apartment building burned down before it arrived.
Hey at least it wasn't in the apartment when it happened.
Now I'm living in a 19 foot class c motor home out in the boonies.
Now I can play my big amps and who would care?.
I do dig that dark terror though

@@Granite165 There's some heavy treble filtering in the first gain stage to cut down on hiss further down in the line. You can more than make up for it with EQ and presence. Also, most people aren't getting past 2 on the EVH volume where shift into it's real tonal character is heard.
