There's seriously something wrong with Corona's law and order system if Varian, a broken and hurt 14 year old kid during the events of season 1, was thrown into jail, but Cassandra, a power-hungry revenge-seeking woman, got off easy
Not only that! Angry and Red (same age as Varian) got off easy as well, and the king even said: I can't throw kids into jail.
Meaning, if you're not in the king 's good side you're fucked

Exactly. There is also something wrong with Rapunzel and how her father handled the issue if they really let Cassandra get away with her crimes and stupid reasonings for doing it compared to Varian who was an actual victim.

The fact that Jeremy sings this other song too makes it ACTUALLY sounds like it's Varian who's singing and it's amazing

Jeremy Jordan as Light Yagami is one of those things you’d never expect but it’s just so perfect
This blew my mind
Especially because it essentially fits not only Light but also Varian's character
I'm no law expert, there's a clear problems with systems if they allow literal children like Varian to get arrested while far worse grown adults like Cass get off scott-free.

Well cass had powers, so it’s not like they could just lock her up... unless you’re talking about after she lost her powers

The entire TTS fandom is against the captain because the rest of the guards are terrible at their jobs
Yeah lol, they’re basically six foot toddlers. 😂. My sister thought Cass and Stan and Pete were siblings until I told her otherwise. It’s like Horten hears a who but instead of a hundred daughters and one son it’s the other way around. 😂.
The captain was kind enough to take Cass in and raise her after Gothel abandoned her. He wasn't all bad.
The problem is ol Freddy. And his stooge who kicked Varian out. And Rapunzel not helping the 15 year old boy begging her to her him.

Okay did anyone else see the tears in Varian’s eyes during certain parts (specifically near the beginning)? The line “What about the victims waiting for some justice?” is what I’m referring to specifically. Just goes to show that Varian is still just a kid who wants his dad back. He is a victim turned into a villian.

The fact that Jeremy Jordan (varian’s voice actor) is the one singing the song makes this song so perfect
hold on, on the episode the king said "we cant arrest children" and he's a child and he got arrested and yet he still helped them when he got out! i wouldn't have!!
This is exactly what I’ve wanted since people paired this song with Varian! A big, spectacular uprising that fits the tone of the music. Amazing job, every frame looks beautiful and it’s very well put together
Considering that both characters are played by Jeremy Jordan, this could have easily fit into the first season of TTS if they were to write a different ending for the finale. They can even place it before the events of Season 3 if they were making Varian a villain for a little longer.
This reminds me of a fanfiction I read where Varian is nearly executed and stuff and when he comes back to Corona w Rapunzel and her friends at the end of the first or beginning of the sequel, there is this huge revolution against the king and Rapunzel claims the crown from him and then Varian kicks King Fredric in the balls.
It's a really good fic 10/10 would recommend

All I have to say is something I said a lot during the show ‘Poor Varian’ he has gone through a whole lot during the show
I would have loved it so much if that was what really happened for varian during season 2 and while rapunzel comes back, instead of a fight against the saporians, she has to change the system to make it fairer. And, mainly, convince varian that she WILL change it... I kind of would have forgotten about Cassandra though probably x'DD
Watching poor Varian get slammed into the wall made me sad.

I found out because of a passing song on Spotify. I was about to take a nap and I put on my music because the neighbors are getting work done on their house and the workers are quite loud. Anyways, putting on the music and I'm there for like 3 songs, I'm almost asleep, then "BAM!" where is the justice comes on and I'm like. "He sounds familiar" and I listened a little more and I'm like "OMG IT'S JJ!!" I literally just finished watching "Newsies" that morning so I was super hype for it lol

@@bodaciouschad This was Light Yagami’s very first song, and one he sings before getting the Death Note. It’s a debate with his teacher over the nature of justice. The musical is so good. Unfortunately we only have the concept album for an English version. It only made it to the stage in Korea and Japan.

Yes. When the mob cuts his handcuffs, he goes from angry to downright sinister looking. Definitely gave me Robespierre vibes. Just shows what a good job the animator did!
@@cmars861From the moment the Captain noticed all the people watching, he started to become confident and sinister because he had backup now, and then he was feeling pretty badass leading the mob to the castle.

You see. Varian was trying to do what Freddy boy wouldn't. Varian was trying to save not only his father, but he was trying to save his home. Old Corona may be small. But the people living there still matter.
I don't care how scared Freddy boy was for his daughters safety.
He had no right to sacrifice people's lives, people's home, all to keep his daughter obvious to the problem at hand.
Freddy boy is no better than Gothel.
Rapunzel isn't blameless either.
Respecting your parents is one thing.
But not having a backbone is another.
Being a Princess, and at some point, Queen, means you have to make tough decisions.
Aka, telling off your parents and giving them the scolding of the century.
Freddy boy was nice in the movie Tangled.
But he's a complete and utter a**hole in the show.

Cassandra put blame on Rapunzel that didn't belong there.
Don't get me wrong, I like Cassandra's character well enough.
But she didn't have the right to blame Rapunzel for every little and big thing that went wrong in her life.
Rapunzel, as much as I loved her in the movie, is an absolute hypocrite in the show.
She doesn't get to be all untrusting towards Varian and yet still expect him to help her and her band of merry men and women.
Not forgiving/trusting Varian at all for how many episodes?
And then she immediately forgive and trust Cassandra after Zhan Tiri isn't influencing her anymore.
That, is out of line for Rapunzel to do.

Cause it's the same voice actor! Check out rest of the songs from Death Note Musical Concept Album, Jeremy Jordan sings there as Light Yagami. TTS fandom got OBSESSED with the musical cause of that and the surprising similarity between Varian and Light

Człowieku, to jest cudowne! ❤️ Oglądałam tą animację tyle razy, że znam już każdą klatkę na pamięć. Naprawdę widzę ból i smutek, a totem tą podłość w zachowaniu Variana. Mimika i drobne gesty są rewelacyjne. Ta świadomość, co przeżył Varian i jak go potraktowano, gdy próbował uratować ojca sprawia, że ta animacja nabiera nowego charakteru. Masz ogromny talent i mam nadzieję, że jeszcze kiedyś zrobisz jakąś animacje z Zaplątanych (wróć: z Varianem). Jeśli tak, to będę czekać! ✨ I powodzenia w dalszych artystycznych przedsięwzięciach. 🙂

Jeremy Jordan voiced Varian and another character called Light Yagami from the "Death Note" concept album (that never succeeded unfortunately). It's the same actor, so it's basically Varian singing.
