  • Mitzi Lucas Riley was interviewed at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum by Peggy Veach Monroe and videotaped by Dickinson Research Center Director Chuck Rand on October 20, 2007. The daughter of eight-time-champion cowgirl Tad Lucas and champion bronc rider and steer wrestler Buck Lucas, Mitzi learned to ride before she could walk. She made her debut at six at the Texas Centennial, filling in for her injured mother in a trick riding act. The mother-daughter trick-riding act created by Tad Lucas made them famous.
The hour-long interview is available for viewing at the Donald C. & Elizabeth M. Dickinson Research Center, National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
