- Hi everyone and welcome to my channel, today I'll show you how to make super cute mushrooms using silicone sealer! I've also made them lighted, but you can do without it and use them for your fall arrangements.

To make the mushrooms you will need:
- clear silicone sealer (depending on its base it may take more or less time to fully cure);
- stiff wire for making a base (if you're making tiny mushrooms - use thin wire, and for bigger ones best if to use thicker wire to be able to hold the cap's weight well)
- baby powder
- paint for coloring the sealer (I used acrylic paints, DIY Perks used watercolor paints, you can take eather of them).
If you want to solder the lights, you sill also need (I'll provide Amazon and Aliexpress options as the latter are much cheaper):

- LEDs (you can either cut them from an LED strip, like me, or buy separate ones). I've used SMD 5050.

- thin wire (I've used 30 AWG thickness)

- resistors

For my SMD5050 LEDs I've used 150 ohm resistors.

- 3 AA battery pack or an old phone adaptor, if you want to make the lights plugged (I've simply cut the pack from fairy lights).

This is so cute, you can even adapt this to a christmas setting by sprinkling some artificial snow on it.
Very cute. If you put dish soap in your water, you should be able to handle the silicone without sticking to it. You have to use a fair amount of soap.
Right! This is why water didn't work! I forgot about soap)))
Isopropyl alcohol works too.. learned that from another RUclips creator.

They do make a holder with little clips in it, I believe they sell them on Amazon. Fairly cheap too. I love this project

Amanita Muscaria mushrooms! They're so beautiful, but don't eat them, or you'll need a travel agent to make sure you return home safely!

Has anyone had issues with the silicone not curing properly after coloring it with acrylic paint? I’m working on this myself and seem to have a bit of a curing issue. Gonna leave it over night to see if maybe its just a longer cure time than normal hopefully they cure correctly!
Hi Nathan, I didn't have any issues when doing this, but the original video by DIY Perks has the reference in the description saying some people had these and this seems to depend on the silicone brand. Most just needed more time to cure, though, so you definitely did the right thing, probably just have to wait a little more!
Please help!!! Your video inspired me to try the same, I bought silicone tube (but I bought white one... Does that make any difference?), but it's been 2 days and the silicone wouldn't cure! It's still as wet and soft as fresh! I've been told that silicone doesn't cure without air, but everyone on RUclips is doing this project with silicone and plastic wrap... What do I do? Please advise 🥹🥹🥹
Hi, you should probably try the other brand of silicone! They have different type of base and looks like the one you've bought doesn't work for the mushrooms..
