Hey girl hey! So happy to have found another Middle School ELA teacher vlogging their experience like me. I taught 8th ELA for 4 years and was curriculum chair as well. I just transferred to a different district & school this year and am teaching 7th grade ELA for the first time! You pulled me in immediately with your Jodeci shirt, made me stay with your music choices and personality. Looking forward to seeing more vids from you!
Hey! I love when anyone appreciates Jodeci as much as I do! lol thank you so much for joining me. Cheers to a new grade and hopefully a great new year. :)
Yippee! Another Middle School ELA Teacher! We are a special breed b/c everyone wants to teach high school (which I taught for five years), but I’m sooooo happy in 8th grade again, where I first started my career (11 years ago)!!
Agreed! I thought I wanted high school, but I love where I am. I feel like I get the best of middle and high school in my 8th graders. Plus, I'm in the same building as my former students (in high school), so my high school itch is satisfied.
Yassss ......this what I needed a secondary educator classroom set up! Question love the Playlist who is the artist of the song "paradise "? Have a great school year
I hit subscribe so fast 😂😍 love your channel!! I’m a first year teacher and just started uploading classroom set up videos! Can’t wait to see more! 🥰❤️
Hey Lady! I love the décor in your classroom! Where do you create/print out your content (such as: levels of understanding (with the cute sparklers), the "are you ready checks" etc! They are so student friendly and fun!
Hi! Thank you! I got the levels of understanding and hand signals for TeachersPayTeachers. I'll include the links here and in the description. Levels of Understanding: bit.ly/3fQw0nV Hand Signals: bit.ly/3AwO0Mi
Nice to see another high school teacher here on YT! I am in my 2nd year but it feels like my 1st year lol. I jist uploaded my set up videos too! I love your blue wall. I have a red one that I HAD to cover lol. I just subscribed!
I'll check them out! It seems that I am in the minority of loving my blue wall lol I'm trying to cover as much of it as possible. Thanks for subscribing!
@@HappilyAmberAfter what would you do to it? I covered my red wall with boxwood better than paper! It's now a hedge wall with white wood and burlap trim. I love it! I hope you transform your wall the way you want it. Thanks in advance for checking out my videos. I will look for your updates.
@@PrintPraySlay I'm still deciding how much of it to cover up. Our walls are massive and making this classroom over is getting expensive. I plan to make a book nook filled with reading posters and another massive background like the one I have up. I think it'll cover most of the wall, which will be good enough for me.
@@HappilyAmberAfter that sounds like a great idea. You don't have to cover the wall with paper you can accent it with decor! Got to Ross, Home Goods or Burlington where everything is less than $20 and get some wall shelves, frames, etc.
I'm curious...what is GLC in your school? I worked in one school where it was grade level coordinator (behavior support, essentially.) I don't get the impression that it is the same thing for you.
I use it as an attention-getter. I don't always like having to raise my voice over students for a call-back, so the doorbell is loud enough to pause them in their tracks.
@@HappilyAmberAfter great idea. I have seen elementary teachers use that and it works. I have a cha-ching button in my Amazon wish list for my class. I teach financial literacy and entrepreneurship so I thought that was fitting.

Girllll! I am here for this and here for you!! You are such an amazing teacher, I know it. I saw it when you were a counselor with me ❤️
Hey, Katie!!! That's so sweet of you to say. Thank you so much! I hope you've been doing well. It's been so long!
I love your sweatshirt and your room is looking great!
Thank you so much!
So glad I came across your channel! It’s nice to find local teachers here (I’m a middle school teacher in SL).
Thank you for joining me! I grew up in Missouri City, so I'm very familiar with SL. Nice to meet you!
Looks great so far!
Thank you!

Yes, that's what it is for me. We call it a grade level chair. I support the teachers on my team administratively and provide behavior support.
What do you use the doorbell for?
I use it as an attention-getter. I don't always like having to raise my voice over students for a call-back, so the doorbell is loud enough to pause them in their tracks.
