G'day Colleen and Warren. would absolutely love to see a video of your collection! what you've found over the years with a bit of history and story on the items! Love your work guys, cheers!
Thanks for your great comment and the idea of a collection video - we have so much it is difficulty to organise and display but will do a video of our very best finds - all the best and Happy Fossicking! Warren.
That was so interesting, to learn something new and research them is so rewarding and Colleen and you Warren must be so happy to find something that you have never heard of before. Plus of course the lovely silver sixpence lol. There are now and again something that is a surprise and gets the mind working, those buttons certainly did that. The teaspoon was a great find too Warren and I cant remember any more sadly. Thank you so much for sharing your research into the buttons, it's great to know of the service of the bravery of the men who fought for our freedom, I will never forget. Lest We Forget.God bless you and Colleen love and hugs to you both Mary-Ellen UK
Thanks for your comment Mary-Ellen. We are back on that site in our very next video where Colleen comes up with more great Dutch relics and I just watch and film. LOL. All the very best - Happy Fossicking! Warren and Colleen.

LOL loved seeing Colleen waltzing with that bloodwood in the rain shower. Colleen had a good day. The other bloke just watched on. Never even offered to dig her goodies for her. LOl Love it.
The wood/elkhorn sides on a pocket knife are called "Scales". On small fancy penknives on watch chains they are sometimes mother-of-pearl. Chances are you've found one, or will, in any gentlemen type digs. A Dutch liner was the first to fire alongside U.S. forces in WWII, one was in Honolulu harbor on 7 Dec. 1941.
Looking like finds and nice weather. Ps you do with a lanyard from your finds bag beit the the handle of your metal detector so saved you bending down and picking it up from the ground. To dig push the metal detectors to one side the it comes up with you Tim uk
We have been detecting a ww2 training camp found a couple tea spoons and a lovely old tea pot as well as button and sunrises and a coin that was cut in half...it turns out that when the men knew they were about to be deployed they would cut a penny in half and give half to their loved one and keep the other half with the words till they are Reunited the most exciting find was a lovely ID tag that we will take to Tolga museum thanks for sharing good finds
Thanks for the comment Anita, yes we have found a lot of great relics in that area, the 'Trench Art' is particularly poignant and we have been able to return a few of the Identity Discs to descendants of the Diggers, very satisfying process! All the best and Happy Fossicking! Warren.
