Id like to add, a chemical engineer can go into EHS-Environment Health and Safety. By doing some Post Grad course. Most process industry require an EHS department. Its not much hardcore chemical engineering, but requires basic understanding. It pays good too.
Hey, I’ve been watching your videos for a long time. Two months ago I started a position as a qualification/validation Engineer as a Chemical Engineer Graduate.
Graduated with biochemical engineering, then landed a programming job. Kinda had a hard time to explain to the people I know on how I can shift towards this change. Hahaha, good content as always!
Hey Mani, sorry been busy with life haha Hope you're doing well. Love the video 👍 Very helpful to people to let them know it's not the end of the world & they can pursue something else 🥳
Some chem eng I know are also working in supply chain, project management, business planning and contracting departments. These departments are within oil and gas, petrochemicals, WWT and desalination. As chem eng, you can fit in any position within the mentioned sectors but you MUST have the technical experience as a junior to boost your CV for future opportunities and become eligible. From experience, nothing like working in a processing plant as a junior. You will have some bad days that will make you think that you are a fool but at the end of the day it will pay off and it will short cut your working path. Beside the hand-on experience, it will teach you soft skills like negotiation, diplomacy, strategies, leadership, ownership, prioritization … etc. *personal opinion and might not fit for all*
True, having industry or field experience is gold, especially if you run into the 4-6 year mark; you can get any job related to manufacturing/consulting afterwards
@@ChemicalEngineeringGuy I mean a chemical engineer can work on line as chemical engineer (in material balance or designer or process diagrams drawing....)??
So i was thinking of doing ChemE at undergraduate but since the job market low im reconsidering. Should i look at Pharmacy,Industrial Eng,Material Science Eng

Isn't chemical engineering a bad career choice? There is no need for us in the future as we do today. I thought there was an unemployment problem in Turkey, but I see that the world does not need this profession, graduates are almost unemployed in every country. So sad
A very important career video for ChemE students! Good work Emmanuel 👏
Thank you! 😃
Your videos are always very educative. Thanks for uploading this.😊
Thanks Eunice, I really appreciate it!

For sure, EHS is a good route if you are into that =) also, there is lots of need in the field!

Thank u for great information
If I don't want to continue as a chemical engineer but don't find a job, How can I work on line ????
Depend son your skills and market, but you can get started tutoring online, or virtual assistant, maybe learning to edit videos

it can be the case! you can always study a Msc to focus in another field
I think petroleum industry is also an example for chemical engineer
indeed, actually I would say it is still TOP 3 employer of ChemE
Can you prepare a master's thesis on a specific topic for a fee? Can I communicate with you
I could propose you topics, but can't work a master thesis right now

True, ChemE is having a rough time lately, I really think its going to stay, but lots of ChemE are shifting to other fields, to adapt
