      eScootNews Yeah it’s very important and I feel like we’re unrepresented at the moment. Currently, I’m riding the Fluid Horizon scooter which has been great for the first 100 miles. But I’m looking to upgrade. Saw your Inokin OX review and was really interested in getting it. Love the design and it comes with everything but wish it was black so it could get less attention.
      You every try the Mantis? Would you recommend it

    • @eScootNews
      @eScootNews  4 года назад +1

      @@Wangan_W Understood entirely. It feels like most of the market includes scooters that are *almost* tall enough in the stem for a tall person, but never quite gets comfortable. I have not ridden the Mantis yet, but I'm trying to get my hands on one for a review.

    There is a lot of reports lately on Reddit about Zero 8 and 9 breaking off with bolts snapping and screws getting lose. And knowing how fast these are in is a serious issue.

    • @eScootNews
      @eScootNews  5 лет назад

      I've seen similar results, especially on the Reddit forum r/electricscooters. I've been paying attention to my bolts and have yet to see any changes or wear, but I don't ride all that hard either. I may see if I can swap the bolts out for good measure soon.

    • @WendelltheSongwriter
      @WendelltheSongwriter 4 года назад

      You just have to do an inspection everyday or every other day. I posted one of those reports on Reddit, and that was because my own fault. I had taken off the front wheel and I had put it back on but not tightly enough, and I lost one of those nuts. the only thing I ever need to tighten or those sleeves on the handlebars and the front stem, which if you hit hard enough in the front will shorten the stem.

  • @WendelltheSongwriter
    @WendelltheSongwriter 4 года назад

    Pretty good vid. As a writer, I never thought to myself that I needed a scooter that fit my life as a writer, but I guess you did! Anyway I have the Turbowheels Dart, which is the same platform as yours, and I agree with your review. I'm 62 years old and I commute on it, and I will probably go up to the zero 10 / lightning, not necessarily for the speed but for the stronger undercarriage.

    • @eScootNews

      Very cool! I'm starting to consider an upgrade, although more for range than anything. My Zero 9 has a lot of miles on it now, and I still love it.

  • @TheRival

    You dont got % but you can check your battery by tapping the red button 2 times. full charhe is 54.6v cut off voltage is 39. so thats how you can keep track of how much battery you have. For me on a ride of 13km I use up 6-7v with solid tires. so i could probably do 20km in total.

    I really enjoyed the video. I have purchased Zero 9, just curious on the add-on apart from the items we receive in package.
    I am a college student from univ of houston.
    I was hoping to get a trolley wheels and mobile holder.
    Now i am thinking should i need handle bar? External Battery so i can drive little longer, if so could you suggest me some good batteries Please.
    Thanks again

      Thanks! Also, I think I understand what you're saying. I'm not currently aware of many add-ons for this particular scooter, but I am fairly positive I've seen a video from Falcon PEV discussing the installation of trolley wheels. It would be worth it to call Rev Rides and see what they offer in terms of add-ons, but I noticed a while back that there are more items for sale on Falcon PEV's own website. Hope this helps!

    How is the suspension? Can you feel the bumps?

    • @eScootNews
      @eScootNews  4 года назад

      The suspension is good, but better obviously if you're a lighter rider. You feel a LOT less bumps in the road than something like a Gotrax or a Xiaomi. This provides really adequate suspension, especially for its weight class.

    I've bought the same exact scooter from the same exact company. And recently, the spring on my electronic brake came off and is now able to move freely along the brake cable along with the brake cable itself that has completely loosened. Has anyone had this problem? If so, does anyone know how to fix it? I contacted falcon pev and they didn't really give me an answer on how to fix it so if anyone had this problem and was able to fix it and could tell me I would really appreciate that. Thank you.

    • @eScootNews
      @eScootNews  3 года назад

      Unsure, but that spring really regulates how well the brakes work. You should start by attempting to replace it.

    I've had the zero 8 for three months now and I believe the zero 8 is the best scooter for you too. I'm also 182 lbs and I go 23-24 mph top speed, even reached 26 mph going downhill. This is more than enough speed in my busy downtown Chicago area. Surprisingly, I've also seen many reviewers say that the zero 8 has faster acceleration than the zero 9.

    • @eScootNews
      @eScootNews  5 лет назад

      Funny, I've seen a couple of other reviews that suggested similar results to yours. Having not ridden the Zero 8 yet myself, the 9 has been good to me. Where I'm riding, it's mostly flat and I've got great acceleration. I find myself riding in Gear/Mode 2 more often than not, but even Mode 1 is sufficient for me for speed. It must be fun riding in Chicago! I've seen a few videos of rides in the downtown area.

    • @aragorn318
      @aragorn318 5 лет назад

      @@eScootNews Yes, it's a blast in Chicago. I live right by Soldier Field and I use it daily for my 2-mile commute to work. In addition, I also use it to go to the grocery, restaurant take-outs, as well as bikepath rides along the lake. I love speed and always ride in mode 3. I love blowing past all the cyclists and hearing murmurs like "man, he's flying!" Luckily, the rental e-scooters in Chicago are not allowed in downtown as well as the lakefront and I hope it stays that way. They give scooters a bad name.

    • @PhilipChristian
      @PhilipChristian 5 лет назад +1

      Yes, the zero 8 has better acceleratioj proven in reviews. I own one. I also did the shunt solder mod in the controller which gives approx 25% more power. I have also custom designed 15cell 55v battery upgrade to increase speed to 25mph gps speed or higher.

    • @PhilipChristian
      @PhilipChristian 5 лет назад +1

      @@blackpanda7612 congratulations bro! It's a wonderful piece of kit. Very solidly built like a tank. Yeah, I like to upgrade everything I get. I went for a 20 km ride yesterday and the battery upgrade was the best thing I did to it. The shunt mod also makes a huge difference holding speed up hills and acceleration. I custom designed the battery pack specifications with Chinese manufacturer of using Sanyo 18650GA sells giving me a max voltage of 63 volts or nominal 55.5 volts. The scooter sits on about 40 or 41 kilometres per hour now at full charge (45 on speedometer) vs about 35km/h with stock battery. Equivalent Range has been increased from about 35 km to 55 km. If you want more details I can shoot you through some information via pm. I think now the performance matches the ruima Mini 4 pro but with better build quality.

    Zero 10 handles are not confidence inspiring, so is zero 9. Handles are squeeking after just 2 weeks of use. its powerful no doubt but its scary to ride past 30km/hr with that squeeking sound on the handlebar

    • @eScootNews
      @eScootNews  5 лет назад +3

      I chose the Zero 9 because of the relationship of the manufacturer to the dealers, and because of the product support. Turbowheel has a lack of support, lack of communication, an unfortunately bad reputation, etc. All of these things lead me towards the Zero 9, and I seriously don't regret my decision. The guys at both Falcon PEV and Rev Rides have done a fantastic job, and I'm not the only one that thinks so. A visit to the r/electricscooter forum on Reddit will show you the astounding support for customer service that they both have.
