    The guest artist was lovely. And Elli is a genius with marketing. This woman's story helps us go through our day-to-day imagining art working for our life--while listening to her! Thank you both.

    Well, I enjoyed art in all forms but never completed school hence never even stepped foot into an art school so I never thought of myself as an artist BUT one fateful day at work last year an executive at work asked me ARE YOU AN ARTIST? Wow I felt so insulted for some reasons 😅 and since then, I felt so powered up to show him whether I am an artist or not even if I didn’t graduate from an art school, I don’t know what to call someone doing art as an hobby but I feel now that, anyone doing art as a hobby or seriously is an artist whether art student or not

      We are really glad you took that as fuel to follow your passion for Art! Yes, we agree that being an Artist is interpretive and could mean something different to everyone! So yes, many people are Artists and it takes just a mindset shift.

    I feel like because I am such an amateur I can't call myself an artist. After watching your free master classes and critiques I realized that I am right and definitely shouldn't call myself an artist. Haha

      Even the greatest masters had to start somewhere!
      Do you like what you do?
      Do you enjoy dabbling in paints etc?
      Does it relax you. Do you get lost in it? My mother scribbled on the walls as a child her dad was about to beat her, but her mother stepped I. And said, WAIT! Maybe one day she’ll be a magnificent artist. And she WAS!!!

    Its so interesting to listen to this conversation, be inspired and STILL question if I'm an artist!! I appreciate learning both of your voices and journey's through art, and how that leads each of you to make your art, your own way. I certainly consider myself a Creative that experiments, play and have A LOT of fun with all thr art supplies. And, I just assumed a professional Artist fine tuned that creativity to make money while doing it? I accept that I could be wrong...

      Van Gogh didn't/couldn't sell much of his work at all when he was alive. Would you consider him a professional artist?

    It was nice, but I think if we could see the person's art. The person you are interviewing should get a visual since it is on youtube.

      Would like to be allowed in to comments, but if this is only allowed for special people....
      Sorry I had to piggy back off you @marciakoford6245, but there was vertically no way in otherwise, and I'm betting this was a very futile endeavor just the same.
      Very frustrating.

    I hate the thought of commissions! I have created 2 in my lifetime. Like one, then 15 years later I did it again. It was enjoyable at first but I always get bored and I just never want to do another. Is this something I’m supposed to do as a professional artist?

    • @milanartapp
      @milanartapp  Год назад +3

      Oh no worries! As a professional Artist you can determine what your career looks like and you do not have to offer a product that feels not genuine to your voice. It is completely understandable to not take commissions. Though you could of course always just see if the commission is your style and then in that case you can agree to it. So instead, just being more selective with commissions is an option as well!
