zen and the art of one handed coffee making
Amazing how you can tamp precisely with one hand!!! Get well soon bro
Thank you! Much appreciation ❤️ it definitely is a struggle 😂
Same question as below.. i think its a very important step to get it right. Btw gread vid and impressive single hand operation.. get well bud.. keepem comming
Thank for this mate. I have the same machine so this was helpful
Yay I’m so glad this was helpful for you!
And you are so welcome 🙏🏻
Thanks a lot Dylan !
Dylan, do you use the default pre-infusion settings on the BDB? When you time your shots do you use the timer on the BDB which is also measuring pre-infusion, or do you time from when the water first starts to drop? (I know you said you look for between 22-28 sec ideally)
Unbelievable job with one hand. I'm having a hard time with dialling in my coffee with a dual boiler and the smart grinder. I've purchased a vst 15g basket but am yet to nail a good shot in there. I find the lower the grind setting the more I get closer to 30 grams out in 40 seconds though it's way too bitter. I'll keep plugging away thankyou for the demo.
Awee thank you so much 😊 Paul! If you need any further assistance I would love to help one on one on Instagram ❤️
I appreciate your support for my channel!!
I have the breville smart grinder also, how does the grind size number on the smart grinder compare to the grinder in the video?
I think you've got it back to front. It should be 40 grams out in 30 sec (assuming you're using a 20g dose)
OPV stands for optimum pressure valve, as far as I could hear the question from the chart. This valve allows you to adjust the brewing pressure.
Hello Dylan.
The one arm coffee guru.Enjoyed your video's and have been watching you for some times.I've started with my Breville Express and after that a Breville Pro.And now my final purchase
The Breville Dual Boiler. It gave me some hard times to tame this beast, I couldn't get to the 9 Barr pressure range.I reread the Manual and low and behold; on page 29 the Article on Pressure Barr not reaching 9 .Finally this was a big step forwards. So to night Feb 10/23 i followed your video on dialling in for beginners .I got excellent results and now am drinking a VG Americano.
All by watching your video .Thanks Dylon.I'm curious about your beautiful wooden handled Porta Filter. What make and Price??
Thanks again for your very informative video.Greetings from Canada 🍁🇨🇦☕Herman Rombouts. P/S Take good care of your arm.
good job Dylan!!!
Thank you Pamela ❤️
another remark - you keep the coffee bag open all the time you were shooting the video?
What do you think of the grinder that comes with the duell boiler, the sage one , is it worth upgrading to another one
For the price I would buy the SK40!
www.espressooutlet.net/turin-sk40-single-dose-stepless-grinder/
When you talk about shot time, do you include preinfusion or once the coffee starts dripping?
Once it starts dripping 🙂
You can do either however I prefer counting pre infusion
Can't seem to get espresso pressure with the Barista Express. Grinder at 1, inside burr at 4. 19 grams in the basket to have a bit of pressure.
I'm using really good coffee.
What am I doing wrong.
Hey Dylan. What is that pump u use on niche?
What are your settings for Inner and Outer gring size
30 secs including the preinfusion time?
Can I put a question out there to everyone using Breville, is the Dual Boiler a better machine overall than the pro? Obviously they are different machines but can I get some votes for choosing one over the other? Cheers
Yeah it is besides the fact that the pro has a integrated grinder and the dual boiler has not. The DB has more consistent temps, is more powerfull, is 58mm instead of 54mm.
You would want to pair the dual boiler with a nice grinder, like a niche or a mignon anyways.
Can you please describe taste difference between under extraction and over extraction
Under extraction is sour and over extraction is bitter!

This video should help!!
@@DylansHomeEspressoBar thank you 😊
Hi Dylan, im considering the Breville dual boiler, but some cons review is that it will not last longer? what do you think of it as an owner? And will it be much greater than a Rancilio Silvia V6?
All I can say is that I love the Breville DualBoiler and after about 6 months of ownership, I would say buy 100%!
@@DylansHomeEspressoBar thank you Dylan. Many that i have ask they recommend also the Dual boiler.
????? Where did it gO
Don’t know what happened to your hand ☹️ I pray your on the mend... 🙏
Thank you Angela!! I fractured and dislocated my wrist
