- Bob Coburn interviews Ric in 2005 after the release of Ric's 7th and final solo album, Nexterday. This is a great conversation; Ric gets asked some interesting questions. He relates a story about Benjamin from their early days, a memory that is outside of the music, and it's both funny and precious. He also talks a little about the Circuit City commercials, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, The New Cars, and so many other valuable gems. I've listened to this many times, and I hope you do, too!
This interview was originally uploaded in four parts by @Panorama1981 . The owner of that channel generously gave me permission to combine the four parts into one file and upload it here. The end of the recording indicates that there might be more to it, but we're not missing anything: When Bob comes back from the break, they play a song from Nexterday and then close out the show. Thank you for clarifying that, and for your permission to share, @Panorama1981!

He sounds so relaxed and open and soft spoken
Always interesting to hear Ric's comments and insight regarding music and other life topics.
Ric was always so stoic on stage, I like listening to his interviews, he does have a personality! Some really good answers too and of course the Ben memory is “ precious” Thanks Donna. RIP Ric❤
Another golden gem! Thank you Donna😀😀
Love it. Thanks again DS for a terrific historical piece I will put in my archives!
RIP Bob and Ric! Way too young

Wow! "thee" Jackson Browne called in.
Not a big Ric fan, my favorite part was the end.
someone keeps changing Ric's wiki
It states he was the primary singer in The Cars. I don't know who he organized to diminish Ben's legacy like that long after Ric would be dead, but I'm not surprised a narcissist like Ric would do that to Ben, Rick's "best" friend.
Well, he was the primary singer. He sang most of the songs. He wrote all the songs too, although Greg had some co-writing credits
@@mikeyissurfinHe did NOT sing most of the songs, especially at the beginning.
@@janetaldrich7747 Ric sang 5 of the 9 songs on their debut. He sang 6 of the 11 on Candy-O. Ben sang 4. One song they did together. Ric sang 6 of the 10 on Panarama. Ben did 3. One song together.
So in my book, Ric sang most of the songs.
