Damn, when I first heard The Cars it was around the You Might Think time period. Was discovering metal then like J.Priest and Metallica at around 12,13 so The Cars were a no-no to budding metalheads,LOL. This video schooled me: The Cars ROCK,and were massively talented. It's crazy what we dismiss when so young. Better late than never,right?

David was actually a good looking guy aside from being a fantastic drummer. He seemed to be in the background. He was not only a great musician but a very talented artist too! And too bad Ric stayed behind his sunglasses so damn much. He was an attractive man. However no one could hold a candle to that gorgeous hunk... Benjamin Orr!!

I saw them at Massasoit College in Brockton, MA the week before the first album came out. They played My Best Friend's Girl at the beginning of the first set and at the end of the second set. I thought that was going to be the first single. They were SO good and I got silly drunk. 1978

I think the doctor ordered lots of hi-hat - Ben Orr was fantastic and the rest of the band really did justice to Just What I needed. Carlisi is great - 38 special is a difficult to sing, but the music was great. Sound man took a long time to get it so everyone could be heard. Pat Travers really did his homework for those cars songs. Drums are sloppy for some of these songs that require dynamics. That sloshing hi hat is a distraction. Still, Pat Travers was brilliant here, Ben Orr - awesome (as always) and Carlisi is really impressive.

I love seeing all this history someone needs to add the big people to Wikipedia I’m surprised there isn’t any information out there this is a great example of a super group. I’ve been trying to find connections with super groups and make playlists. Example anything Bob Dylan, Tom petty, Jeff Lynn, Roy Orbison, George Harrison. I need to do one for the big people now.

The Cars sound better live than by studio! Never heard a band like them, one in a million! Ben is so goodlooking and too bad he didn't have a million of him walking around.

Horribly underrated band and Ric was just an unreal songwriter. Never received the attention they deserved.

Ben Orr ❤ was an irresistible man, simply a model of patience with the interviewer!!, and Ben ❤ was charismatic and a joker at the same time. His deep voice as an announcer and sweet at the same time in the song "Drive", which I love!!...just like Ben ❤, he should have also been a film actor or been a top designer clothing model.
