Outstanding video. You are the only one who mentions that Fernando's relief appearances v. Astros gave a good hint to fans paying attention he would be somebody down the road. Well that came pretty quick! Thanks for focusing on his brilliance as a player. No doubt his cultural impact was (and remains) very real, this guy was an amazing story because he came literally from being dirt poor in a Mexico the so-called "Latino community" he inspired was a generation or two from the world he came from. The dude was a straight up hero to ALL Dodger fans-white, black, brown and all shades in between. God bless you, El Toro! The likes of you shall never pass this way again! Say hi to Vin and toss a couple of sombreros into the sky! 🙏
Fernando Valenzuela paid a steep price during his incredible rookie season in 1981. At just 20 years old, he threw 8 consecutive complete games to start the season-something unheard of in modern baseball. He led the league with 11 complete games, highlighting the heavy workload he faced at such a young age and the long-term toll it took on his career.
Great stuff. Wonderful storytelling. However, that is not Jerry Reuss at 3:21. Reuss was a southpaw. That was Hooton, then Reuss after. Prescient stuff though, especially being produced a year prior to his premature passing. Y'all did 34 PROUD !!!

My parents saw him play and they always told me how awesome it was to see his stuff
His impact on the Mexican American community after the Chavez ravine problems was still impactful today

No pitcher ever started their career as hot as Fernando.
Great video keep doing what you do 👍
How is Fernando Valenzuela not in the hall of fame?
RIP 🙏🙏 El Toro
RIP Fernando.
R.I.P.
Great vid. Only mistake is in 3:20. Number 46 was Burt Hooton and number 41 was Jerry Reuss.
Was about to comment on this. Good catch. Excellent feature regardless.
He was a pretty good hitting pitcher too
VIVA EL TORO POR VIDA!!!
Que Viva Mexico. He was my fave player of all time
Unforgivable Fernando rest in peace ❤
