Every year I watch Sydney and I'm blown away! :D No one can throw a fireworks spectacle the way the Aussies can. They got the money behind it and they have the absolute PERFECT venue. =)
Without doubt, Sydney was the best place to welcome in 2000. Glad to be there to see it live. Looking back after all these years, all I can say is WOW!
I was there! I wish I have never seen it! Because I have never seen anything near the Sydney 2000 fireworks again... I was 18, and after 11 years, it still remains the best I have ever seen!
I am damn proud of living in Sydney and NYE is by far the biggest night of the years. listen to the noise at 2:58 - 3:05 You can hear those fireworks from about 20km away, and they are shooting about 500m in the air. Millions of people crowd the harbour for NYE. Its a true fact that Sydney has the best fireworks show in the world.
where have the good old days gone.. i was only 9 or 10 but damn life was so good.. 1998 1999 2000 best years for music in & Everythin else In Australia For Me.
for anyone who has not been to this beautiful city would find it hard to comprehend the gandosity of these fireworks , the bridge for example is 512 metres long and 134 metres high , and at times , the fireworks make it look small . for the entire city skyline to be on display is a massive feat in its own right . what a mammoth show - will always be the best - nothing will ever beat the fireworks sydney NYE 99 - 2000 . . .
I cannot remember this, I was only 7. I wish I thought more of it at the time, a new millennium is a big thing that I will never see again, let alone another century.
Weird to think that the next millennium the year 3000 they'll be able to look back through time and watch videos like this of the y2k millennium would be prety cool if we could look back at the first millennium
As we approach the 20th Anniversary of this night, it was still one of the best ever! No vid shows how good Sydney was that night - but this comes close :) I was at The Rocks with views to the Opera House and the Bridge - it was beyond what i could've imagined.
I missed it because I was only 4. I never even saw the new year celebration. In fact, I never knew it was a new year, much less a new millennium. I wish I had seen it. It feels good to finally see what happened. It feels weird that today that was 12 years ago. Everything that happened in the last millennium was at least 12 years ago. Everyone born then is at least 12. Every event, every date, at least 12 years ago. It felt weird in 2001 when it was one year later, or in 2010 when it wa
ero la! 31.12.99 una giornata estiva grigia..ma dalla baia del fiume dalla parte di Sydney Nord oltre ai fuochi dal ponte e dall'opera house si vedevano quelli che partivano dai grattacieli..indimenticabile...

lol how come there was no BBC or al jazezeera coverage? the best news stations shazam! anyway good video, i loved then way each city got that attention as the new year came across the world hour by hour in different places. you get to see these displays without having to interrupt your own celebrations :D boooom.
Damn, i missed one of the biggest moments of our time :S I was five years old and didnt realize why everyone was so wild! Well i'm gonna party like an animal when 3000 arrives!! xD
