Jeff, for the chain could you or your daughter take a run to a marine salvage business down by the coast. You may find something unique to use that would look good exposed. Appreciate you sharing, great looking progress.
Hmm, did you run that chain suspended floor idea by an engineer? I dunno, maybe it’ll be alright, but I would have some concern about the tensile stress you’ll be putting on the bottom chord of those trusses. The truss webs look like they were designed for top bearing loads but if you start putting an extra load on just the bottom chord, that could change the whole dynamic. They may want you to run the chain all the way up to the top chord, to maintain the load design. Also, cable is considerably stronger than chain too and has a narrower profile. Consider putting turnbuckles in the middle of the chain/cable so you can dial in the tension, right on the money. For what it’s worth…🤷♂
After living in her tiny house, Hannah's not going to know what to do with all that space! She'll probably get lost! Love everything you guys post... really appreciate your skills Jeff.
There are times when engineered lumber like a LVL has advantages over organically grown wood products. Jeff, you could double up the floor joists with LVL's and not have to hang the floor from a chains.
Very impressive, and more so the way you coordinate the work with the important things in life. But that being said I'm sure you've had your share of finish dates on jobs. Quality work like all your stuff, most excellent
Looking good Jeff! I ain't never seen spray-insulation done like that before (with fabric super-stapled over it)... looks damn neat & tightly done! Hannah musty be getting pretty damn tickled by now, but once the drywall is in place - it'll be a whole new level of happy, and a whole new bunch of "what if" ideas I suppose?! Hahaha... Yall doing great though, just wanted to say it!
I hope you don’t put yourself thru hanging the drywall and get a drywall crew. Theirs still plenty to do and you can make more cutting wood then hanging drywall .
My uncle toad me a story of a house that was so airtight it burnt everything up in in a bedroom because of electric blanket it hadburn all the oxygen up in that room and he said it look like the Ash of a end of a cigarette the ho bedroom the walls and everything in the bedroom was that color of Ash this was before insulating foam was invented so beware building a house airtight can be dangerous at least leaving electric blanket on this goes out to my very wise Uncle Buddy
WOW! I love the layout with the raised center with the full 2 story tall ceiling making the small room feel MUCH bigger. I love the idea of having a screened in porch attached to the rear and a second story screened in porch with added open deck with huge sliding glass doors or French doors directly from the second story loft. Maybe a staircase or spiral staircase in one of the side rooms to save space in the living/kitchen/dinning front room. Thanks so much for sharing. As a DIYer I love getting ideas about construction. I built my tiny home 11ys ago and I added to it every year with my tax return money. I have 5 more years of projects to add, a screened in porch addition, outdoor kitchen, outdoor shower, outdoor jetted free-standing tub, lattice roofed herb garden, custom shower inside. And looking at these beautiful designs always helps to give me ideas. From the bayous of south Louisiana thanks.
wow. I have seen a ton of those sprayfoam jobs and nearly everyone calls for trimming it in some way. I have never seen anything like this with a staple job and no mess. May have to link that guy because that is a game changer.
Wow dude, you are a talented carpenter. The house is coming along fantastic! Great job. Would love to see more of the build around the outside. I live the covered area. Keep up the good work. You are definitely father of the year. 👍
That looks beautiful and I can’t wait to see the finished product, lots of your terminology went right over my head but never a boring video from you guys
Very nice work! But , have a question, need to bee so big? Is like a church, a tower with a big bell and is ready. Before people are mad on me, i understand that need place to the gim room also, and house is better to be proportional with owner success. But even with that is huge, eventually propper for guesthouse in case of hunting&fishing clients came in. Although, especially with times that come on us.. , is a big house, nice but harder to hold. Hanna is a gorgeous and tuff girl and wil succeed to manage it, especially with such a professional and dedicated father. Wish you good health and all the good stuff
Awesome. I was looking for the build on Hanna's channel but I guess I should have been watching yours. I like watching regular folks doing builds like this. Ask your daughter to cover it more on her channel. Or will it just be on yours? 👍
Obviously did not get a permit for this. No way an engineer or code inspector would allow that span for the mezzanine. 2x12 fails for bending and deflection. Should have used a TJI 110 at 12" OC. Just got some free engineering. Failure to get permits will cause people not to sell homes or projects down the road.
How many bedrooms will this house have, along with the master bedroom for Hannah. I think your doing a great job on Hannah's dream house build. Thank you for all your updates.
Tighter than a frogs butt you mean. I'll follow up to see what went on with the insulation process there cause I hadn't seen it enclosed like that before. 🤔 I would discourage serious texture work for a simple drywall job. Easier to maintain or change in the future. Looks sweet!😉👌👍
Do you do your own plumbing and electrical I do my own when necessary unless time won’t allow It is great not to have to depend on paying someone else to do it🤙🏻🙏🏼❤️ Peace Brother
15 ft is about max span on a 2x12. Probably would have opted for a TJI to get the span out of it with no supports and a spiral staircase for space saving. Red guard on shower walls is a must. If it were mine it'd be wall to wall, floor to ceiling t&g pine with some red cedar accent pieces. Looks great so far even tho im late to the showing
Slow expansion foam behind the typar so it won't bulge. Your foam guys did a good job, too much sloppy work being done for a fast buck these days giving the insulation trade a bad name. Give these foam guys a shout out to throw some work their way. Just the opinion of 41 years experience slinging batts and all other types of insulation.
Hey Jeff, need to think about a meat locker for your property and processing us Nor California boys like what you’re doing at modern touches dark paint, real wood
Doing a great job on the house Jeff. Videos never boring. Spray foamers did a great job on the house. Jeff an Hannah are a great fad and daughter team. House is looking beautiful.
Recommend a fresh air in/out system with the spray foam. It seals the house up so tight, the chemicals in everything inside needs a way to escape. Makes a big big difference
Don’t worry about boring us, I could watch 45 minutes easy
WOW! That place put a dent in your lumber pile I bet. Preciate y'all sharing the process and updates. Can't wait to see the finished product.
You Sir are a very good father and an outstanding Carpenter.- tx for shar'n
Dry Wall. My youth. So good I didn't need help. The mudding was easy but sanding! Whew! For Hannah though... it's worth it! 🥰
It's lookin great Jeff! Be sure to keep us up to speed. Good luck in Idaho! Drew tags last year. Got run out by wolves.
🤗👍👍👍absolutely amazing Jeff. Wish I knew just a little bit of your knowledge
Jeff, for the chain could you or your daughter take a run to a marine salvage business down by the coast. You may find something unique to use that would look good exposed. Appreciate you sharing, great looking progress.
I was wondering how it was going and as I thought looking awesome 💯👌🏽
Really looks Awesome I know she will enjoy it 🤠
Preciate You Jeff!👍❤️God bless Y’all!

Jeff it’s looking real good!
Great insulation job
Jeff, do you all have to deal with those building inspectors down there? Where you're at for plumbing and structure and electric. All that stuff?
Lord it’s going too a crew too drywall it . Looks good .
💚💚💚
Not boring, appreciate it Jeff! Best spray foam job I've ever seen.
We been waiting for an update . Can’t wait to more of your talent Jeff . Man has some skills for sure . Keep the updates coming sir . Appreciate it .
Yeah, what he said!! ^^^
Jeff, you're a great Dad! Building your wonderful daughter a beautiful home that she will always cherish!
You must be hoping for some grandkids
Building Hannah a house that size ! 👍😊
After living in her tiny house, Hannah's not going to know what to do with all that space! She'll probably get lost! Love everything you guys post... really appreciate your skills Jeff.
She is looking So good, Jeff and you should be proud. You're an amazing builder, and the videos are never boring.
Great stuff, Jeff. This house is already looking great. I can't wait to see the finished product. Thanks for the video.
Looks great and sounds like it's going to be an amazing home! You're vision is absolutely impressive!
Only idiots think you’re boring… We love watching you brother

Yep, LVLs or engineered floor trusses. The chain idea up to the roof trusses is a little concerning to me.
That looks awesome, you are definitely a talented guy, Hannah is lucky to have you as her dad
That insulation is awesome. Won't take much to heat and cool it.
It's looking good! That insulation job is above and waaay beyond any I've ever seen! Thanks for the update!
Jeff your daughter, is a pretty woman. Your spray foam insulation: ART WORK! Could you please share information about: your spray foam insulation?
Very impressive, and more so the way you coordinate the work with the important things in life. But that being said I'm sure you've had your share of finish dates on jobs. Quality work like all your stuff, most excellent

Hell yeah, she's coming together beautifully! Keep up the awesome work 👏
Thats going to look fantastic! Love the tile y'all picked out...
Love these updates. I’m in the construction field. I enjoy watching the progress. Keep up the great work Jeff. 👍🏽
Really enjoy the house updates. Keep them coming, please.
Could have used TGI floor joists to span the office space floor. Done!
I hope you don’t put yourself thru hanging the drywall and get a drywall crew. Theirs still plenty to do and you can make more cutting wood then hanging drywall .
Looks great! Good luck on the elk hunt!
Love watching you build and giving updates. Keep them coming.
I can already see all her mounts and antlers hangin on the wall...it's lookin good!!

I see you are using PEX water lines, do you think it is the best thing to use are is there another reason you used it?
Dude you are amazing! Hannah is a lucky girl to have such a great DAD! Love your videos!
wow. I have seen a ton of those sprayfoam jobs and nearly everyone calls for trimming it in some way. I have never seen anything like this with a staple job and no mess. May have to link that guy because that is a game changer.
@John_Conner222 you do the fabric first and then spray the foam in sections through small holes in it
I look forward to seeing the house finished and furnished with your design touches. Great job so far.
I could watch you all day without getting bored. You are an awesome carpenter or anything you do.
Hey Jeff the house is looking great like that design n spray foam job seems to be the way to go.👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Going to be a beautiful home. Jeff is a terrific craftsman applying his talents for his daughter.
Looking great Jeff!
Looking good Jeff,,,,,
Looking great you can’t do it all!!
can't speak for anyone else, but I would love to see more video of the house build either on yours or Hannah's channel
Hannah is going to have to wonderful house!!!

Peace and love from Canada. We up here know about building and especially insulation!!!! Straw building for insulation beats all modern shit.
Looks great. Will be amazing when finished. Thanks for the update.
Very nice work!
But , have a question, need to bee so big? Is like a church, a tower with a big bell and is ready.

Thanks Utube this Just popped up! How about Antique big link chains exposed and painted flat black?!
Never Boring Jeff, first spray foam job have seen like that. House should stay warm.
Thanks for the update...I love looking at your work!!! Is there anything you can't do?
Awesome. I was looking for the build on Hanna's channel but I guess I should have been watching yours. I like watching regular folks doing builds like this. Ask your daughter to cover it more on her channel. Or will it just be on yours? 👍
Don't forget Jeff! You raised a southern girl! If she decides to put a swimming pool up there! There will be a swimming pool up there!

Thank you for all your updates.
No blocking or strapping 🧐. The sheer strength is highly questionable.
Fantastic job Jeff where did you learn your skills?
Looking good jeff, you’re a machine mate, love ya work buddy.
I’m impressed the spray foam didn’t get all over the giant roof beam/trusses. Guess they wrapped with plastic ? Maybe a metal spray guard ?
Tighter than a frogs butt you mean. I'll follow up to see what went on with the insulation process there cause I hadn't seen it enclosed like that before. 🤔 I would discourage serious texture work for a simple drywall job. Easier to maintain or change in the future. Looks sweet!😉👌👍

I'm definitely looking forward to what that house looks like finished. Good job
Thanks!! Always interested in the craftsmanship.
Jeff, I appreciate you sharing what you can with the house build.
Hey Boss did they use a variable speed HVAC system? Or at least 2 stage compressor variable speed blower with a dehumidifier thermostat
Very very nice very beautiful outstanding ❤ tell Hannah I said hello and you to
Hey Jeff, need to think about a meat locker for your property and processing us Nor California boys like what you’re doing at modern touches dark paint, real wood
